Just an advice, after making very set of eyes at the end of each example you should put a clip of the dolls with the eyes on :)

The eyes I make are all different sizes and do not fit my doll. I tend to make larger ones for demonstration purposes. :)

I really wish you modeled the eyes on a doll. But, still nice vid.

I cosplay my doll so whenever he gets new eyes I make sure there’s eye contacts that have the same design on them so me and him can be twins

Thanks for this tutorial. I have been wanting to make my own bjd eyes for awhile now. I will definitely check out your molds. Where can I buy the resin?

They're really cute but I feel like (personally) there is a point where you have added so much to the eye that I can't see them as eye anymore. I could see star shaped pupils as a fantasy eye but it reaches a point for me when there is that much glitter and so many gems that I can't see an eye I see a tchotchke. Beautiful work though and I learned a lot you are very thorough with your instructions and that helps people to understand more why they are doing what they are doing. Thank you so much for you wonderful videos.

I think seeing them on an actual model would help that issue with the eyes not really looking like eyes anymore. I wish she would’ve shown us some of the finished products on an actual doll rather than alone.

@@uselesswriting3092 Excellent observation, it could most definitely change they way we see the product to have it on a model. I imagine these (people, animals, creatures, beings) would be other worldly. But unfortunately they don't inspire my personal imagination to seeing what they might be when hole. I stand by my previous aswell, her work is stupendous, amazing, and beautiful. Frankly it is a relief to know that she sees something so brilliantly apart from what I can come up with. With out her ability to create a world I cannot how would we ever learn, find out new things, or simply be entertained. I apologize if this is somewhat overboard for such a simple thing, I just think it is really wonderful and worth talking about! :)

What resin do you use or would you recommend? All the resins I've tried so far have been super thick and I'm trying to find something thinner.

Do you have to use a uv lamp to cure? Is sunlight not enough?
@variety_dragon75093 жыл бұрын
Sunlight takes a long time, about 30 minutes, to cure uv resin. It could certainly work if you live somewhere sunny. But if you’re looking for a fast cure, it’s better to use the light.

Are your molds safe for the oven? Because I'm scared opaque UV-resin won't cure, so I'd like to use Fimo as the white base.
@Zanyzarah5 жыл бұрын
you should be able to (gently) pop the clay out of the molds-- push it in when warm from being worked, let it kind of hang out and stiffen up, push it out?

hirana akira silicone as in the silicone molds? Or the resin?
@hiranaakira29656 жыл бұрын
Nope nope silicon as in the silicon molds , please
@ccres6 жыл бұрын
Okay that makes this easier then. There are two common methods for silicone molds. One is using two parts of liquid, and mixing them together. The second is using a mold putty. (which I use) Anyway both methods usually work fine, the difference is the two part silicone you would pour onto the premade eyes to create a mold. While you would push the premade eyes into the mold putty (like playdough basically) to create a mold. If you want a cheap way to use mold putty look up "silicone caulking mold putty" and you'll get cheap, easy tutorials. As for two part silicones, absolutely look up tutorials so you don't waste it. Sorry for that long thing, but you can buy silicone materials off of Amazon and I'm pretty sure Michaels/Hobby Lobby sells it too. Amazon would probably be cheaper and have a wider selection, but it's all on preference.
