Every year I make a cat or two for my baby's birthday using this tutorial. It's become a tradition to us. I've used many colours and added so many different details (ear floof, a nose...) even made themed cats like angels and devils with halos and wings and horns etc... Thank you for making this tutorial. These little kitties became something special we look forward to every year.

Next time you run out of stuffing, use strips of wool and use a brush to brush them out. You should, if you used the right brush multiple times on the wool get a stuffing like material.

A tip for drawing on dark fabric: Use chalk! Any chalk should work, although they have ones that come in specific shapes for artists. Also, when you're done, it wipes right off, so if you really need to you can use it on the right side of the fabric. ^^

Maqaroon Please help me I have been trying to find the right sock for this project but I can't find any, where did you get yours and do they have to be knee high and no stretch marks like those lines they put there for show I think,but I hope you know what I mean and can help with this problem. Hi! I got this sock from H&M and they sell them online in the USA as well. www.hm.com/us/product/06894?article=06894-F#article=06894-G Any of the black socks should be identical in terms of fabric and size. You can also click on the colour selection circles to get different coloured socks. The "light grey" circle displays a pack of socks with the pink colour I used for the sheep tutorial. Hope this helps and best of luck making it ^_^!

I get my paper clay from Something Kawaii: somethingkawaii.co.uk/mermaid-puffy-decollage-clay-white-50g-p-250.html Try looking on Etsy for "Mermaid Puffy" or "Hearty Soft" instead of paper clay, as it's often listed under the brand name. Needlefelting needles are different to normal sewing needles because they have tiny hooks in the tip which help the wool fibers stick together. So unfortunately, as you discovered, it's not possible to felt with a normal needle which has a smooth tip. You should be able to to find needlefelting supplies in most large craft stores, or you can order it over Etsy here: www.etsy.com/listing/60867803/needle-felting-a-pair-of-felting-needle Hope this helps and lots of luck with your crafting!

This reminds me of a book I have from the 1920s that teaches you how to make different dolls using socks. I'm a bit tight on money, so I might just use my father's old black socks, he's not using them anymore and it's better to use them instead of wastefully throwing them away when we can still get some good use out of them. My mother used to make dolls too, so there must be a huge bag of wool stuffing lying around somewhere. Thank you for the tutorial, sewing is very relaxing and fun when you're bored and have nothing else to do :)
