I was inspired by David Hammer to try this project. Being new to the art of blacksmithing, I thought the difficulty of this project was beginner-immediate and it was a ton of fun. Any average person can be successful at this cowboy hat blacksmith project!

If there was ever a promo for coal forges this one makes the case. Imagine 8, heck 40 hours of that noise. I'd quit forging after a couple of weeks.

You can pick them up on eBay for like $250. The consumables cost $40 and you get a bunch of them.

I know I am driving you nuts with questions!!!! This is not an arc cutter is it? Do you find that makes any difference to you? What size air compressor are you using for this one, and do you only buy Zena consumables or are they interchangeably with other brands? I told you I was such a beginner!!!!!

Lori Steele they make them now with trigger ark. The one that I have is a scratch park where you have to touch the material first. I have a 60 gallon compressor now but I have used my small pancake compressor it worked just fine. Regulator needs to be set up for 70 PSI on the plasma cutter. A pancake compressor usually runs about $100-$150 in the plasma cutter runs about $250

So, I am looking into getting a Primeweld 50 amp cutter to begin with. It does not seem to come with an electrical cord or air hose. Will the guys at Home Depot or Lowes know what I need? I am scared of not getting the right thing and it not fitting properly. And, do you know if consumables are interchangeable? I keep looking for specific Primeweld brand and do not find them! Thanks again for all of your answers! Lori
