Thanks for sharing your BFPTouch clone with us.I do prefere your design because some details was deleted so printing it become easier. Great!!!

It appears you need to do some sanding on the flag to make it slide better. I think it would be better to include that information in the video so makers know that is required for it to properly and easily slide. Otherwise it will bind and drive the probe into your bed and cause damage. I plan to include your design in my DIY probe shoot-out. But they are all based on this same design. Thanks!
@ManolloMancelli2 жыл бұрын
Well it’s not really required as it worked for me even without the sanding. It’s just a matter of fine tuning your printer. If you got it tuned right then there shouldn’t be any performance issues with the probe

@@ManolloMancelli my apologies. I heard the crunchy noises. I had a few like that and they would stick sometime. Awesome job!

Thanks, just ordered a kit to play with and this is one of the first things I'm gonna make. Gonna skip the inserts as they shouldn't be needed (I will see!), also will use a ball end and lighter plunger. Same Marlin tweaks as a purchased BL touch? Thanks

I can't make the servo work, already sent many M280, and it always return eccho : unknow command. I have followed every step on the original guide, nothing moves the servo.

You need the IDC expansion board, firmware flasher and firmware with abl capabilities

can i change optical sensor with endstop switch?

Hey, estimated cost of this (inc 3d printing services as i am planning to build a printer) is around $2-3, and using an inductive sensor with an aluminium sheet below the glass would be exactly $4, so price between them doesn't matter, but just fyi for my budget, but what would be more accurate? this or an inductive sensor with aluminium below glass

oh yeah can this be attached using the i3 mk2 extruder?

Printing and assembling it is the easy part. How do you drive the PWM servo to activate and deactivate it?
@ManolloMancelli2 жыл бұрын
It’s actually pretty easy. You connect it to specific pin on your board (depends on which one you use) and then you uncomment automatic bed leveling in marlin.
@RichardBronosky2 жыл бұрын
@@ManolloMancelli so automatic bed leveling sends PWM out a pin? What frequency does it use for activate and deactivate? I assume you have to activate the servo before installation, then put the horn on at the proper angle. Is that right? Seems like your video went into great detail on the minutia and ignored the technical. No offense. I love the build and appreciate you sharing. ☮️❤️🌈

@@RichardBronosky the servo control is not strictly PWM, but pulse length based; so the processor must regularly send pulses that in their lengths correspond to servo position, with neutral or 90° position pulse usually being about 1.5ms, but the time between the pulses is not critical, and in fact can vary depending on any number of things. Marlin generally tries to send about 50 position bursts per second to a servo. Anyway there's strictly no reason for you to know all this, RC servos are highly standardised and Marlin just knows how to operate them, with the only relevant input being the servo angle. You can just mount a servo such, that it can make the motion without running into its stops; then you can test suitable angles with M280 and then set suitable Z_SERVO_ANGLES in Configuration.h. Alternatively you can remove the horn, play around with M280 to make yourself certain of the turn direction, then drive it to a known angle like say 0 or 90, attach the horn, and then drive the servo around with M280 until you have positions you're satisfied with.

I suggest to follow the guide on the original probe referenced in the beginning. It has all the marlin settings needed to make this probe work.
