HGTV needs to pick up the Chad & Erin show! So practical, affordable & cute!
@patriotgirl68432 жыл бұрын
Two cube storage ottomans would be nice under the shelf. You could store blankets or other toys in them (something lite so they could move them. Little concerned about the sharp corners toddlers could run into with the cubbies on the wall.

When our girls were young, we made Concrete block & board shelves. The concrete blocks were just the right height to use laundry baskets for storage. Laundry baskets held the larger toys/play things and taller books. It was also tall enough for us to put our 13" TV with a built-in VHS player. That was on a lower shelf so the girls had access to play their tapes. LOTS of storage in their "playroom" - converted bedroom.

Not only did you both do a wonderful job of building, painting, and decorating, but the filming and editing was GREAT. I love how you went around both rooms at the same time showing before and after. Beautiful job all around.

Chad is the ultimate builder. Since day one of watching the two of you (on Bringing Up Bates) work together and help everyone in your family no matter the project is truly a beautiful thing. When you put love and compassion in what you do, it shows. . .that's the two of you!

Room turned out great! Before there were storage organizers (raised my children in the 70's and 80's) I always put two closet poles in the closet to hold more children's clothing. I built shelves into the 'ends' of my boys closets that could hold trucks and games.

This looks great! If you can believe it, my son's room was even smaller than this in our old house. It had a small closet that jutted out into the room. We put a bookcase on the side of that closet and kept all his toys in baskets like you, books mid way and comic books at the top. Best use of space. We also were able to fit the tiniest dresser ever in the closet which gave him a little more floor space. Your colors are gorgeous!

Love the simplicity and new desk station. Having raised a few boys- those little guys will be climbing the wall shelves in no time to get to their goodies. Floor space or not, outa reach toys are no fun. Of course, other baskets or larger toys could be parked under the shelving too.

Super cute room! I think I would’ve put that toy shelf where the desk is since I would be afraid that the little one on the bottom of the trundle might hit his head in the middle of the night.
@brandijordan99692 жыл бұрын
Same! I would switch the desk and toy shelf or turn the shelf on its side. It feels bulky and like someone will get hurt. Maybe it would feel different if we were there. Overall super cute!!

Erin and Chad, I love your creativity and skill set. You compliment each other so beautifully! I also thought about the cuts/bruises the kiddos would get from banging their heads on the bottom corners of the cubby shelf while they’re playing on the floor, as other commented, but I was equally concerned about the mirror over the bed. I’m a stickler for nothing above the headboard unless it has a screw going through it into a stud, preventing it from being able to fall. Earthquakes (or little ones bouncing on the bed and accidentally bumping it) make for scary scenarios when there is a breakable object right above someone’s head. Other than those safety concerns, I love the room. God has definitely gifted you both…so talented! ♥️

I love how the room turned out! My only concern would be the corners of the shelves been low. Someone could hit their little head on those corners 🤔. Whoever sleeps on the bottom bed would have to sleep on the opposite side of the shelves just in case. Or Tory could buy some silicone corner protectors 🤷🏻♀️. I really love the color choices you picked 👌

Looks good! I think for us, we would have had the hanging shelves have four cubicles on top and one oblong one on the bottom. That way it could be used as a second desk. There was plenty of leg room and space for a chair there. Just a thought with two kids in the room.

Amazing job! The room looks amazing! Erin, I am a terrible, terrible cook and I need to get better. No joke, I’m bad and I also eat bad food when I try to cook. I wish you did a video on what helped you go from a cook not as bad as me but as you’ve said before, not an amazing cook to what you do now! What were some of your first recipes which gave you the confidence to try harder ones? Honestly, I think if you had a separate YT cooking channel, you could make some huge bucks!

Looks nice, but I would switch the placements of the desk and shelving unit. I would also put the shelving on the floor because someone is going to get hurt with the sharp corners at the bottom. Those corners are too close to Kolter's head when the trundle bed comes out. Besides that, I love the decor!

I have a question. Will the child in the trundle bed be able to get out of his bed without bumping his head on the wall shelf? The wall shelf is a super cute idea!
@promiseofjoy38962 жыл бұрын
Cute design for older kids but a trundle under a hanging cubicle with sharp corners will be interesting for smaller kids sleeping under it. A custom bunkbed would provide more floor space and allow shelving to be placed on the floor where it would be accessible to those using it.

looks awesome as usual! when my boys were young, my husband built bunk beds using the crib mattresses. we had a small space as well

When the grandkids were little, we used stickers or drawings on outside of every toy been that showed what went where, picture of clothes for doll clothing, dishes for pretend dishes, car sticker for cars and trucks and so on. Doing this really helped them in putting away their toys. Now they are older we’ve transformed the room by adding desks that they can fold down when they need them. We also allowed them to pick out the paint as well as let them paint the room ( we were putting in new flooring so it was okay if there were spills. They take such pride in “home away from home”.
