So you live in Florida too. I started my project by myself in June then the rains happened and I haven’t been able to work on it again because it has been raining everyday. Ruined the wood I had outside.

If you are using pressure treated it should be fine. Just let it dry out

Did you leave the back of the grill open? I have a cook station that was built already, but it’s got siding around it. Wondering if I could cut a space for the grill to fit and put cement board around all 3 sides. Couldn’t see exactly what you did on the back

Yeah I used cement board all the way around. Then covered it with the siding. Venting it is not a bad idea either

Well done. You should consider a pizza oven to replace that Weber. With your talent and resourcefulness you could probably do something dope inexpensively. And i vote NO on painting the wood….just transparent seal to protect them.

I did consider maybe doing tile, but I wasn’t crazy about having grout lines. Honestly the concrete is a little intimidating but totally doable.
