This is a great way to remove spots. The dish soap could attract dirt, but if you use a tablespoon of vinegar to two cups of warm water to rinse the cleaning solution out, that will help remove the soap
@LivingGratefully3 жыл бұрын
I love your idea of using the vinegar solution to rinse! Thank you so much for sharing that tip! I’m so thankful you commented with your thoughts! 💕

Yep. And if you have a shop vac / wet/dry vac, you can suck the water out of the carpet.

What do u mean rinse? So after scrubbing with the solution in the video, go back with vinegar/water solution?
@bcrawsh2 жыл бұрын
I think you really need a wet extraction to remove the soap scum. I have a machine that rinses and extracts (Hoover) or you can wet the spot with clear water and a shop vac without the filter. Otherwise, the spot will come back and will be worse.

Just a tip, I see you have hardware floors under that runner, may I highly recommend that you put an absorbent towel under the stain before treating. This is for 2 reasons, 1st it keeps the cleaner from warping your wood floor, 2nd it absorbs the stain as it will bleed thru when u pour the cleaner solution

Hi! Thanks for watching and leaving me a question! I didn’t notice it being lighter in real life. And in the video when I swipe my hand over it looks like darker threads come up (like it does with most carpet when you swipe over it) so I don’t think it did. @@LivingGratefully I tried this today! The floorboard of my car was already in need of trying something and I spilled my strawberry frappucino all over the floorboard that was already in need of some TLC, now lets add some strawberry puree on top of it! I immediately remembered your video and got the stuff. Only thing I did different was I used the blue Palmolive with Oxy and I did use the spray bottle. Every thing else was exactly like your video. IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM! I started looking around the house for other spots to use it on! Those who try to say this solution does not work may have not made the solution properly or maybe way trying to use it as paint remover...ALTHOUGH, I am not above trying it for that purpose as well. THIS WORKS for strawberry puree and shoe scum on the floor board of a car! The only elbow grease required is in the blotting process, unless your entire carpet is atrocious, in which case you probably need to use a steam cleaner or replace the darn tootin' thing all together!

Instead of salt Can I used baking soda? Also what kind of salt did you use?
@beckya.95943 жыл бұрын
@@jalissa4120 I used regular table salt. Baking soda would probably work too. The salt sort of clumped together and made it easier to remove and less to vacuum.

What type of vacuum is that ? It looks nice.
@LivingGratefully Жыл бұрын
Hi! It’s a Shark and I purchased from Walmart a while back. I now have a cordless only because when we upgraded our carpet we needed a different kind of vacuum with less suction. That white shark was a great vacuum! Our daughter even loved using it :) I gave it to donation so someone else could enjoy :)

How long did you let the liquid sit b4 scrubbing it?
@LivingGratefully3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nina! I scrubbed right away - I didn’t cut or edit the video footage - it’s exactly how it looks - I poured it on and started scrubbing. Hope that helps! Thank you for watching and for your comment!! 💓Cathy

@LivingGratefully3 жыл бұрын
@@ninameas5393 no, you don’t need a fan :) it should dry fine on it’s own. Just don’t walk in it until it’s dry. 😃 good luck!
