Great Video I just finishing a Wingfoil Board and the next one will be a Downwind Board. What are the measurements of your DW Board. Thanks 🤙🏻🏄🏻‍♂️🌊🔥

Hi, it is 7’7” x 20”. There’s a lot that goes into choosing dimensions. My advice would be to not go any wider than 20”. There is a group on Facebook titled “downwind foiling” which has a lot of good conversations about board dimensions and design. Thanks for watching 🤙

Looks great! I’ve been real keen to try one. How much do you think it cost all up?

For me it was around $300 usd. This is because I got the foam for free and already had all the power tools. I also used fiberglass instead of carbon which is cheaper. I’d recommend spending the extra money for carbon honestly.

@ oh yeah I was wondering about that. Was it heavy? Or not strong enough? Too much flex?

@@kylebodenham4911 no its not too heavy and plenty stiff from the stringers. its just not very durable.

How are the USBOX attached to the blanks, I could not see that you glued the stringers to the boxes? I recently completed a DW build too, I used a PCV foam block and some arrow shafts to connect the bottom and top lamination. I would fear that your boxes will come loose from the board. Shape looks great!

@@adametannecle2722 yes I used thickened epoxy to set the boxes in.

@@watermancallum does those usboxes with only thickened epoxy work? they don`t get pushed in or ripped out? how manu hours have you used it for now. ifitworksI can really make my trackboxes lighter too. cool use of scrap material:) !

@ yeah I didn’t have any high density foam. All the strength comes from the stringers and the fiberglass over the top. Have only got maybe 15 hours on this board but I’m not worried about the track boxes failing. I’ve got lots of fiberglass over them.
