Hi! This actually looks doable. I may try. Do you suggest we use regular paper for the template or card stock paper? Just thinking if it will make it easier.

Great video. Thanks for sharing these tips. I didn’t know how to get the balloons to be smaller and more round looking but now I do 😅

This is a great idea and fairly inexpensive too. I would like to try this with an 8x4 piece of foam board, maybe? Thanks for sharing

Thanks for watching! If you make a bigger arch I would recommend hot gluing the scrap straight pieces to the back of the arch to support the board so it doesn't warp. Happy making!

Hello! Do you prime your foam boards or? What brand of spray paint are you using?
@EventAnswer2 ай бұрын
Hi, I don't usually prime the foam board. I build the coats of spray paint up in light layers. This builds up an even color and prevents the board from warping from too much paint. If I am changing the prop to a new color for a different event, I will prime it first so the new color doesn't get muddied with the old color. I tend to use Krylon or Rustoleum paints in the desired sheen. On rare occasions I've used Montana Gold spray paints for a high quality finish.

I would love to do this. Having a hard time finding the size foam board. Does anyone know of who sells that size foam board.

Can we do this with installation boards from Home Depot?
@EventAnswer Жыл бұрын
Yeah! You could use the 1/2" pink insulation boards. The process would be very similar. You may need to use a box cutter so the blade is long enough to cut through the board. Don't use spray paint on the insulation board as the paint will eat the foam. Use latex or acrylic paints instead.

Is ur vehicle(s) a van? If not when u do this for events how do u transport?
@EventAnswer2 жыл бұрын
Nope, It is a small SUV (Ford Escape) with the back row of seats folded down. That is why none of my props are wider than 4 feet so I can get them through the hatch. Sometimes for large set-ups it takes more than one trip to get all the balloons on site, but it works pretty well. Occasionally there are days I wish I had a mini van with fold flat seats, but not enough to purchase one.

How do you add weight for outdoor events?
@EventAnswer Жыл бұрын
For this project, I would tape the arch to a pair of balloon stands for more stability. Something like an Ikea lamp base would work great.
