DIY Chinchilla Pillow & Pee Pad

Hey guys, today's video is a tutorial that I put quite a bit of work into. I show how to sew a pee pad and a pillo by hand using fairly easy techniques. Hope you found it useful and don't forget to have an amazing week! :) :)

Can you use these same sewing techniques to make a fleece liner for the pan (like how you use fleece as bedding)? I was just wondering since you didn't actually show the sewing part in making the fleece liner for the cage.

Jenna McGuire Definitely two. And it’s best and easier if you buy two already bonded. Most chins (and it’s important to note that MOST chinchillas but not ALL chins, such as Merlin) are very sociable and prefer to be in a herd, like another partner. There are a few cases where a chinchilla prefers to live alone, like Merlin since he gets very aggressive towards others, but mostly they need to live in pairs ☺️💕

I have a female chinchilla and she got a deep cut in her leg that has been bleeding a lot I stopped the bleeding for a day but she just keeps biting at her leg causing it to bleed we don't know what to do because there's no place that has experience with chinchilla because there not common pets if u have any suggestions on what to do I'm all ears

Hi, I have two female chinchillas and the other one has also done the same. I would suggest you check the paw if it is looking healthy or dry and infected. A healthy paw should feel smooth and like "rubbery". If they have dry paws they get easily wounds and start biting them. So what I would suggest is to cream the paws with a basic unscented cream that you can buy from a pharmacy. And also before that, clean the wound with disinfectant. Then keep putting the cream on it every day until it has healed. Also if your chinchilla is overweight the back paws will more easily get too much weight on them and become dry and wounded. So giving less treats would be good if this is the case. Hopefully this helps!

The Chinchilla Notebook discord’s this free app/website where you talk to different people I guess? A server is basically a group chat but can vary in sizes. If you meet someone on a game that you like you’d usually give them your discord to stay in contact.

Missan Missen I put it in the places in his cage where he pees more (such as corners) so that I can change them out more frequently throughout the week and the cage stays fresher. I also sometimes use it under the water bottle and under his hay holder to catch the hay he pulls out💕

I was told in the shop that the cage was ok for chillas but it's actually an aviary and very hard to clean and everything, like poo and splint, just spill over out on the floor where the cage is. But my ladies are pretty cool, they don't pee on wooden things :) But where they eat and as you mention in corners.
