Thanks man! I've had mine for a year and was wondering where the filter was since I've lived in an apartment and there was no instruction manual. Sure enough, my filters were caked with dust! You saved us during this heatwave!

Finally got it up and running. The only delays we had was because we realized we needed some extra parts (I’ll list that below) kzbin.infoUgkxihMYiJNXcHdbH-7ihymsLz61l7jVyb5O . So we have a loft where our current hvac just couldn’t seem to keep cool during the summer. We have been using a window unit since we bought this house over 6 years ago (all the houses in this neighborhood were built in the 80’s and majority of the houses built like ours use a window unit). I hate window units because they are just so noisy and the one we had really only cools one side of the loft. I had contemplated upgrading our current HVAC, but with all the rising prices these days, it would take years before saving up enough to do that. With the advice of my father-in-law (used to run an HVAC business), he recommended we get an inverter instead. We thought we bought everything we needed, but there were just a few other parts we didn’t anticipate needing (which is what caused most of our delay). My friend and father-in-law did all the work to get it installed and running and now we have nice cool air circulating nicely throughout the entire loft. It is very quiet and even the outside unit is much quieter than our main HVAC unit. Saved ourselves thousands getting this.

I found out the hard way about cleaning these after two years in an apartment where the landlord never told me about maintenance for this. Not until they waterfalled liquid onto my laptop, docking station and monitors.

I thought indoor units must be 6 inches from the ceiling. Yours doesn't look like it is. Does is still work properly?

I use ductless as my main heat ßource, is this unusual? I use pellets on really cold days.

Thank you for the helpful video. Now, I know how to clean the filters! I have one of these units in my new apartment. It is not silent. It makes a sort buzzing/whining sound the entire time it is running. Is that normal? I find it distracting and irritating.
@paultheplumber8665 Жыл бұрын
That is not normal for the unit that is shown in this video. I'm not sure if your unit is older or a different brand it could be. Might be worth calling your local HVAC company to check it out.

@@paultheplumber8665 It is the Mr. Cool brand. Looks like the one in your video. Not sure of the watts or whatever it is called. My apartment is supposed to be 500 sq. ft. How can I tell the size/output of this unit?? Would you be able to tell if I measured the length, height, and depth?

Thanks do you know what I should do about black particles spewing out into my living room?
@user-lz6dm5lk9y Жыл бұрын
That sounds awful! If I were you, I would have a service technician look at the unit.

Better: if you have a handheld shower, just blast them clean otherwise use the garden hose. Blot dry but it won’t hurt anything to insert them still damp. I like to spray mine with a little bleach/cleaner to kill any mold.

I noticed there's only 1 of those black rectangular smaller filters but those bigger filters have a spot for 1 on each so I'm just wondering should I contact my property manager it's a new building?

By the black rectangular filter I mean the air freshening filter (plasma) should I have 2 or 1? Thanks

Would like someone to tell me which screen goes where as I mixed them up, one has a thin black filter thing on bottom of screen and the other has a light blue green one. I assume they have a purpose?!
@christophercondrat53717 ай бұрын
Probably doesn't matter because air will circulate through both.
