can you clarify what you mean by recycling?

@@SlimShadyBBy42 Well, old buffet and wardrobe etc saved from recycling center. And only solid wood. there's ton of in these centers in France. Also on second hand's website like Leboncoin (in France ). Always free.

@@SlimShadyBBy42probably more like reusing. Recycling is almost like you build a whole factory to remake those materials xD

@@ardwg_ recycling and reusing are the same thing.
@ardwg_
@ardwg_ 5 ай бұрын
@@Katiee0592 I think it isn't. Recycling "The reprocessing of discarded waste materials for reuse, _which involves collection, sorting, processing, and conversion into raw materials_ which can be used in the production of new products." Reuse, "The repeated use of a product or material in its same form, for either the same or a different purpose."

Next time on cheap skates on TLC. Tho why not cheaper wood? And most tools to build a closet would count towards other projects too soo... I wouldn't buy em specifically for a closet. And never use em again hahaha

5k for the material and some tools to build all cabinets/shelves (as seen on the „final“ picture) in the entire room seems to be round about normal. The painting job i would like to see though. did you disassemble the shelves again before painting them white or did you spray paint them when everything was assembled?

One thing that’s so misleading is them never factoring in the labor time. It’s easy to pretend like you got a deal by doing it yourself when you don’t account for the sweat equity. I’m sure with labor they spent well more than 20k in material labor and tools

Sure you can do it, you can do anything…..however you got a novice install which has no warranty, it will take up everything in your life and take 2 weeks longer than pros. The real difference is materials, you’re using big box crap, the hardware, the finishes…..if you were actually debating using a pro and not just wasting his time, you would of gotten 3 bids and you would of been able to relax, get a better deal, with a warranty and knowing the craftsmanship is superior, knowing you made up a contract and both signed it….you’re all set! You could have had a professional job with a warranty….instead you got the ever more BS’n interneters diy first time blah. And the worst part….because we’re all so stuck in our own narcissism, you’ll just say, “I didn’t need a professional install, I got exactly what I wanted by diy” here’s the kicker…..just good enough for what I need?! Well if you compare my 20yrs or carpentry and your diy….you’d start to understand why my tone, may sound a bit rude. I commend you did the work, I wish people were that passionate, however what this does to the craft….is lower expectations, lower quality, and give people unrealistic data and when you look at craftsmanship from the 19th century….a west coast craftsman “Greene and Greene house” you’ll understand why I’m so passionate and think what we’ve done with many industries, is an outright crime….we are not evolving we’re just feeding the cheap Chinese slave and child labor global market, all for cheaper bs! Two wrongs don’t make a right! All the best
