Do you use CO2? If so, are you buying or generating?

I use the same kit you got off amazon. It's been around 7 weeks with my first batch of sugar and yeast and it's just now starting to slow down. It's perfect for my 15 gallon, I'd recommend this DIY Co2 for anyone :) One thing I did differently was I boiled my sugar water and melted it and then added some flavorless gelatin to slow the yeast down from eating all the sugar too quickly.

@@cyndalbandy2515 Wow, thanks for sharing your experience. I'll need to try out some gelatin with my next batch. 7 weeks is a good stretch!

So I can just brew alcohol and use my fish tank as the bubbler... That's genius 😂

I think you got it figured out! Then sip on a brewski while you watch your aquarium 🐟

Yes thats exactly how it works. You can replace the sugar with grapes and honey to make some mead. (I'm a muslim but i find fermentation very fascinating)

I just hooked up DIY CO2 to my planted tank a couple of days ago. I don’t think mine is going to generate enough CO2 to create the lime green color. In your experience, do the smaller amounts of CO2 help your plants grow better, even though it’s not as much as the high-tech systems generate?
@freshflowaquatics6 ай бұрын
Even small amounts of CO2 can make a big difference - hopefully you notice that with your tank. A system like this would be sufficient for a small tank, but probably not so much for a larger one. I'm not sure where the cut off is, but I'd guess around 20 gallons.

Hi. I followed what you did but i dont have that bubble counter. Is that okay? And also I just planted my plants and the thank is still cloudy. Will that affect the C02?
@freshflowaquatics3 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks for the sub. It's OK not to have a bubble counter, because you can't really adjust the CO2 with most DIY systems. It is important to use a drop checker though to make sure that your levels aren't too high. It's fine if the water is cloudy, that shouldn't impact the CO2. The water should clear up after a day or two.

@@freshflowaquatics thank you! I put a drop checker and saw it turned green. Then it turned yellow so I put off my co2. Thanks for the reply!
@flinkymatawaran3 ай бұрын
@@freshflowaquatics another question. The drop checker turned yellow meaning the co2 is high. Is there a way for me to turn it off? I check the pressure and it keeps building up and im scared.
@FelixDaCat19696 ай бұрын
I wonder how much yeast you'd need to make enough CO2 to benefit a 4x4 tent haha
@freshflowaquatics6 ай бұрын
Lol, might not be so time and cost effective. I don't have any experience with that but there are some stores around me that offer 20 lb cylinders... Costs about $100 off the bat but then you can do refills/exchanges for $13.

I think you should just make a new video. One where you don't make so many mistakes and maybe even write down a script.
