DIY Compact tire pump, built from a standard portable inflator

My goal- Find the best tire fill system, smallest form factor for Moto travel, and reusable and reliable. The idea is to save weight and space. This video shows how I accomplished space-saving by removing the air compressor from the plastic case.
Modifications: Case removal was straightforward. Some mods were required- wiring, etc. All in all the pump performs well.

Came to this video after watching your CO² cartridge video, and i just want to say both are amazing and you absolutely deserve my subscription! On my 2007 suzuki boulevard, it would only take me 5 cartridges power tire to get to pressure so i went that route vs this pump, considering i could fit all cartridges in the little tool conpartment and leave my bags empty- something i couldnt do with a pump. Both are amazing videos though, and THANK YOU for testing the CO² cartridges because all i coukd find were estimated psi for bicycles and had to roughly calculate tire volume and psi per cartridge- which ended up being 4.97psi. Great insight on both videos and as a newer rider i hope to learn a lot from you

If you put a drop of 3m oil in it, it should last longer

Nice video! My ADV 160 in Philippines has no 12V jack. I'm going to make one of these, but cut off the plug it comes with and add a little SAE battery tender type plug. I want to add one of those jacks to my scooter anyways.

Adrian, yes it still is. Still working great. However I am looking to find a pump with higher quality components. That’s one of the reasons I bought the Bonair pump. That video review is in my channel.

Great revue, especially the part that you took it apart. They practically all the same in the core, and put a cheap plastic cover over them sticker it up and put a useless pressure gauge on them mostly with scales up to 10 ore 20 Psi so you can’t read the pressure accurately besides the gauges are not accurate. This is ceating, and I don’t like it. I probable do the same and build my own take the cover off, so it is less bulky and put a reliable pressure gauge on, so you don’t have to measure again with a separate action. I’m based in Europe, so I’ll find different stickers and the first one from FTA-Adventures I looked at but wasn’t available in EU, the other two brands I have to look for them, but buying one from the states is probably not an option, so I hope they are available in EU stores.

Oh yea, the tire size you mentioned was an R17 tin the text, but you mentioned a R18, but that will not make a hell of a difference in pumping it up from a flat I guess.
