Black plastic pipe works well for covering sharp edges. Just mash the ridges on the sheet metal, then take some 1/2 inch black plastic pipe, slit it down one side, and slip it over the edge of the sheet metal. If you're concerned about it coming off you can secure it with some of your baling wire like you secured the sheet metal to the posts.

since I don't have a yard I'm just using a small bucket to compost some scrap and bark in

Nice job Michael. Most of the tutorials on YT make them from old pallets . Seems yours will outlast those . Keep us posted

Compost is one of the first things I'm setting up! I AM MOVING TO MY WILDERNESS REDOUBT!

Michael buy you some red wiglers and throw them in , the worms will help break it down quicker ... I just did that to my homemade palate and tin compost bins
@AsymmetricalPreparedness3 жыл бұрын
We are lucky we don't have to buy worms, we have tons of them

Using garbage cans with missing lids. No good with raccoons around so... Drilled a few holes. Done. There was a pile around a tree when I moved in. Some pretty gross stuff in it though. Went through it and used in original garden.

I pile up the chicken and rabbit shit on a wet spot I have out back. It rots the straw and hay down well. I just filled a few raised beds with it today and will cover with topsoil. Works well for me.
