How has this held up over time? I've got a couple block walls in my basement I have stained with deck stain that I really enjoy, and I am considering doing similar with another area in my basement to continue the theme (to avoid doing drywall), I am curious how you think this would look with an earthtone stain over the top.

I also used Feather Finish recently for a bathroom design project. Same problem - the colours were very inconsistent. I couldn't figure out if it was the water in the mix _to start_, or the consistency of the mix at the moment of application, since it dries out as it sits. The other variable is simply how thick it is on a given section of wall. In my case, some of the holes shown through as little circles where the mud was thicker and took longer to dry out/cure. The solution for next time I think is simple - have a second person on board so you can work quickly. Use thin layers and do 2-3 coats, only worrying about surface finish at the end. A lot to ask for a shed (or bathroom), but for anyone trying it, learn from our mistakes!

Looks awesome,I really like it, one day I hope to do a concrete wall in my house. I would of put plywood or osb behind the durock looked like it was flexing a bit when you applied the cement. Moreover if you ever mounted anything to the wall there would be something solid to screw into .

I feel like we have both been spreading compounds on a wall at the same time. I filmed a skim coating video this week. Came out so nice! Luckily, I didn’t have to worry about the color after it dried (like you did) because I’m just going to paint it Swiss coffee anyway. I’m doing a wall trim project. It’s to make my wife happy. Im looking forward to seeing that cement wall of yours in future videos. Keep up the great making!!!!👍👍

You can overboard with cement boards, only find your studs and set out your cement boards from your studs. Bear in mind cement boards may be a different size from plasterboards. I would have personally used plasterboard, it will be strong enough to carry the cement
