You're the first person who showed how to keep the bottom a different colour and not have the bootcover cover everything, thank you so much!!! this is a lifesaver

I've been so scared of making my own boot covers for years but I'm going to face my fears! This totally helped! I haven't decided if I want to make them permanent, but I haven't seen someone else do the gold trim like this and my cosplay needs it as well, fingers crossed I have a good result!

Good luck! I also avoided boot covers for a long time, they are definetly intimidating, I'm glad I could help and best of luck with your cosplay!!

Wow. Wow. Wow! I need you! I am trying to make boot covers to change the color as well as style them for my 18 yr old. Hmm. I am not as talented, patient or quick as you. Thanks to ADHD things take me longer. I don’t exactly have longer and we could find no boots cheap and used in a no heel style so I had to buy brand new for $25; which means they need to be reused and worn day to day. Hmm. I may be able to discreetly add under the boot Velcro or snap flaps to the boot cover or elastic.
@ColleenCosplay2 ай бұрын
If you want non-permanent covers than a lot of people just use elastic. So where I added the glue and glued the fabric to the boots, instead add an elastic casing and thread through some elastic. I don't like the reusable covers as much since they tend to take on a bit more damage, but if it's a one night thing for Halloween than that's okay. Lots of reusable boot covers tutorials on KZbin too if you need more ideas! It's a pretty popular method in the cosplay community.

Yay Supergirl's back. Quick question - Who is your fave supergirl ? Melissa Benoist, Laura Vandervoort or Helen Slater ??
@ColleenCosplay3 жыл бұрын
you are probably not gonna like this answer but...I'm a comics girl. I've never kept up with the DC cinematic universe or any of the live action adaptations. I have however read A LOT of comics and a lot of Supergirl. So I'm afraid I can't say which is my favorite since I haven't seen any of the Supergirl shows/movies. But I can tell you a lot about the comic books!
@Lennon7663 жыл бұрын
@@ColleenCosplay No probs. I sent an email out to the various heads of the Colleen Cosplay Australasian Division advising that reading Supergirl comics ONLY, was quite an acceptable form of fandom (I told 'em it was from the very top) and it's all good. Thanks for the reply

I'm going to be making boots like Frieren's from Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. They're not a stretchy fabric, but, would you recommend a stretchy fabric anyway, or is there a particular type of fabric you like for things like that? Anyway, this is a super helpful and detailed tutorial, so, thank you!
@ColleenCosplay6 ай бұрын
A non-stretch fabric will also work, but it will either need a zipper closure or will be a looser fit (think like cowboy boot type fit). The stretch fabric is so the boot can stretch over my heel to put it on or take it off. For Frieiren specifically, they do make stretch pleather fabrics if you wanna go the stretch route, but it won't look as substantial as her leather traveling boots. A zipper closure with a non-stretch pleather may be your best bet as a compromise between difficulty and accuracy. If you want a true leather boot, then that gets into some serious stiffener fabrics so that it can hold its shape with that looser fit. Those fabrics are much harder to work with and may require specialized tools.

If I'm making this for a child and adult how much fabric would I need?
@ColleenCosplay3 ай бұрын
Maybe a yard of fabric if you're planning on lining it like on the video? If the shoe sizes, calf sizes and lengths, are much bigger than maybe a yard and a half to be extra careful.

All my videos as subtitled if you prefer to watch without sound. If something that insignificant makes you want to act like you're on fire though I recommend exiting the entire app. Lots of different kinds of youtube and you don't seem to tolerate anyone different.

interesting side note.... when you said you got your boots on Depop, I went there to see what I might find. I tried using the name I use for my cosplay stuff (Bill Quemeese) and the site said, 'please don't use emoji's for your name', weird. I did find a different way to use the site, but they didn't have anything in my size
@ColleenCosplay11 ай бұрын
Yah resale sites are always hit or miss when it comes to finding stuff. I also use Mercari and between the two I can usually get pretty close to finding what I want. A lot of people have recommended Threadup too, but I haven't tried it yet.

Hello. I did look into translating this video and it's $60 to translate an 8 minute video professionally (I don't know enough Spanish to translate it myself). It just doesn't make financial sense to offer translations at this time as my adsense from youtube won't cover the cost. Feel free to let me know if you have questions though and I'll try to answer them here.
