Hi, IL here too. In past seasons I have started caladiums inside, and have wished I started Dahlias. Lillies tend to do fine, and winter over, so I add some each year. The birdhouse looks great!

Thanks Jennifer for the FYI good to know. The lillies are already coming up. The CBG website said dahlias would take a couple weeks for growth inside. Great experiment!🙂🌸

I know cost is always a big issue for all of us gardeners, but I wish you (& all the others too) would shop at local garden centers rather than the big box stores. Local garden centers are usually locally owned & profit stays in our own communities. Big box stores are not local & profit goes far away from home. Thanks.

Hi Jill , thanks for your comment. Actually I did go to my local garden store that is where the violas and potting soil came from in the video. I do shop at mine, but in the case of the bulbs they did not have what I was looking for. As for cost yes, they can be higher, but a lot of times the local garden center will carry something specific and unique that I can’t get at a big box store. The downside is none of my local garden centers ship, so it makes it difficult to share with viewers who are looking for online purchases or a common big box they can find what they view in the video. Last season I did take viewers to multiple local garden centers and purchased car loads of plants from my visits. I hear you! 🙂🌸💚
