Yes any crayons would give the same results and you don't have to use whole crayon for such small amount of wax just a bit of crayon shaving would do.

You didn't blow it out at the end, they don't work. They don't stay lit. Rob from Man vs. Pin did this and they don't work. Don't lie to your fans and have them try to do all of this when it just doesn't work.

ForeverFalls243 Honestly I blew it out (or waved my hands) to get that footage. Promise. I did not lie. But, I also didn't further test the candle, because I wanted to keep it for decor. Trust me, when I knowingly fail at or mess up a project I let my viewers know. Hence the Pinterest Fail videos I have (& I document my mess-ups in various tutorials). :)

I saw another video of candle making and they said not to use crayons because it clogs up the wick and it'll stop burning. Do you find that that happens or does it burn just fine? Cause I wanna make some of these.

Probably the crayon because of the higher oil content. Wax burns slower

dt LO It is only certain types of paper that will catch fire if heated long enough. Wax paper, parchment, cooking bags and paper plates are safe. However, when you have a stack of papers it is possible for them to ignite. Also, if the paper is crumpled into a tight ball it may ignite, whereas a loosely crumpled ball won't. I looked up the info after i asked the question. But thanx for replies

it works better if you use an old glass mason jar or glass cup because they help the wax to melt faster and you can clean them easily so you don't have to throw it away after you use it. just dont put it in cold water when you finish using it... the jar will crack... and pick it up with an oven mitt, it tends to get hot

Crayons are not ideal for candle making they clog the wick, use colors mean't for candles.

Followed the instructions perfectly, but end result was my 8 year old daughter in tears ... I spent $40 to make 4 candles in 4 hours that looked nothing like your result. She and I were so disappointed as we followed video instructions to the "T". I'd advise do more research on wax temperature and incremental layering. Crayons are not meant to be used as candles as they melt at a different temperature this results in each layer melting into the previous layer. Finally, crayons burn much much faster ... so don't expect to burn a crayon candle as instructed in this video.

That's so horrible I used mostly things from my house. We put it in the oven on 250 F and put real candle sticks in it. Maybe that made a difference. I think it was the paraffin that did the trick.

That's a really good tip for making striped candles. It must be a lot faster melting the different wax colors in small containers in the microwave than melting each color separately on the stove (like I did). I'll try your way if I make recycled candles again.
