Dr Martins inks work very well for coloring glass. Thanks for the info! Have some pretty colored bottles, time to get the sledgehammer out!

I love that your husband saw what you were doing, went to the garage, and brought you a sledgehammer! 😆 Good man.

I was thinking the same! Sweet men do exist. And worried about our possible craft accidents too

This was a great tutorial… thanks so much for sharing! It was just what I was looking for, as I wanted a cheaper alternative for coloured glass for my resin projects. And that brings me to a request for you… PLEASE do some resin videos? I am still learning and I watch hundreds of videos, and try to soak up as much knowledge and inspiration as I can! I completely get the whole ‘horrible fumes’ thing but, there are so many resins available now that have no VOC’s… which means they have virtually no odour and are so much safer to use! But, if you still have resin left that is nasty, you can use a mask so that you can’t smell it!?! You have yourself a new subscriber from sunny Queensland, Australia! ♥️♥️🇦🇺

Thanks so much! Wow Australia! ☺️ I haven't used Resin in a while & I would like to make a few things I have in mind. I will research the odorless kind like you said.

FYI......sledge hammers come in different weights. use multiple strainers with different sized holes found in rock shop stores. wear a face mask for the fine glass dust! use 3 to 5 drops ink at a time, mix well then add more if needed otherwise you get deeper and richer colours. good video for your first try

@LifeIsAWholeVibe2 жыл бұрын
Food coloring sounds like a good idea. I haven't tried that.

Leather gloves, old rug under breaking glass, sort thru a strainer, use glass jar with lid to shake ink and glass in.

Just put it in a couple of Bountis thick napkins inside a big black thick garbage bag hit it with the hammer it will get the size you will like. Put the paint inside and let it dry.The painting I usually put it in a cardboard spread it, it will dry with the color u want. Good job, love it!!!!

It ll be sharp right ,it can hurt ,pls show how to make the glass pieces soft so that it can be safe to use
@LifeIsAWholeVibe Жыл бұрын
Correct it's sharp so you must be careful even with the store bought kind. You can wear plastic gloves to add it to a canvas painting & adding a fee coats of Mod Podge can dull the sharpness

Hi I would love to try this method bcz we don’t have crushed crystal for crafts in our country, but I am kindda worried if these glasses would have sharp edges bcz I have very low tolerance to pain..so scared of wounds.😢
@LifeIsAWholeVibe Жыл бұрын
Yes it can be sharp so please be careful making it and applying to your projects.

@@LifeIsAWholeVibeget a tumbler and put the glass in before coloring it. Tumble with water maybe an hour to get the edges smooth. Watch Crazy Glass Lady, she has a lot of info on this.
