how to build custom in ear monitors DIY

This is a fantastic video - thank you for making it. My wife has custom in-ear monitors, which were made by some company. I always wondered about how it was done. I use UV-cure adhesives and resins pretty often; you showed some great applications. Thanks. I see you got some of the usual boring comments complaining about spending a lot of money on "professional" equipment. Some people don't understand that some things cannot be bought. And some people don't understand that buying the tools is cheap tuition - which makes you more valuable as a person. And some people have never had the satisfaction of making their own thing. Personally, I want to live in a world of my own making.

first off i want to thank Robert Kaufmann and many other youtubers for teaching us how to DIY IN-ears... it cost me around 800$ to make my first set of CIEM. i spend around 500 on tools and 300 on parts but now i started my own business and i have been making CIEMs for the last Year.

Hello! It's so great you are now doing this as business. I also bought a lot of equipment and have been doing a lot of tests but I just can't get the magic gloss to work. I have tried several time settings but I either end up with a solid shell or a partially solid shell. Would you please share with us how you achieve a hollow shell? Best regards!

First of all, thanks for this awesome video. It's really well done. I'm collecting all the material needed to do my personal IEM but some points of your video are not clear to me: 1) What's the diameter of the two tubes on the speaker driver 2) Which damper you used and if it's really necessary 3) What the diameter of the two plastic tubes you put inside the shell Thanks a lot!!
@traplong9305
@traplong9305 5 жыл бұрын
The sound tube have different variation, and the diameter depends on which driver u connect to. If u are connected to a smaller driver usually the nozzle is smaller, and u might need to use smaller size sound tube. You can drill a big hole which allowed u to fit more than 2 sound tube, and fill it back with resin later, or measure and keep spaces for 2 isolating holes. Its all about how u want it done, and u have a lot of ways to do it

Hi Robert. Good job on your CIEM! I am planning to make my own by following this tutorial but I have a question: I have seen the datasheet of the GV-32830-000 quad driver and the freq response seems to lack of lows and highs 70Hz - 12khz Am I wrong to think that this driver could sound a bit muflled? Will I need an extra driver for the top end of the frequency range? Thank you!

Hi, You made them with magic glos? I'm in process of doing mine, and I'm looking for some kind of hypoallergenic lacquer to cover them and prevent allergic reactions. Do you know any product I can use?

Hey Robert, great tutorial! Probably will be making one soon. I was wondering are the dampeners provided with the armature together?

Followed this video but the negative form moulds were very brittle. Is there a reason for this?
