I recommend using an awl instead of a needle to punch holes in the paper. That way you can do more paper at once and won't hurt your hands. Good idea with the cereal box!

Loved the video, just a little tip. If you don't want the feather paper to rip, make sure to close the book and check how much paper you need. I don't know if that made any sense to you, but the book need more paper on the outside when its closed than open. ;)

If you use an old phonebook, you can put the fold of the paper in the fold of the phonebook and that makes it easier to punch the holes.

Could you use back-stitch (is that what it's called?) to sew the spinne? It's when you sticht a hole further than you would normally do to then stitch back to the hole you started.
