No Buffing Wheel! 😁 Polishing paste is perfect for me. To get from 1500 grid to mirror surface, it took just around 25 minutes.

Quick question for you. I saw that you put your mold and resin in the oven for a bit. Was that required in the instructions for your resin or was that to speed up the cure? And if so, how long did you leave it in the oven and what temperature did you use? Thanks.

I use the oven at 50-70°C to speed up the curing of resin coating. In this case here I used the oven to soften the hotmelt glue mold to be removed more easily.

Hey JaWu. Sieht definitiv geil aus!!! Mich würde mal interessieren wie du es hinbekommen hast dass die Farbtöne sich nicht alle miteinander vermischt haben? Ich wollte eine in schwarz und neon grün machen, habe die Farben leicht ineinander gezogen um es sternartig aussehen zu lassen und leider hat sich alles irgendwie vermischt. Also das ursprüngliche Design verschwand mit der Zeit.

Um das ineinander verlaufen der Farben zu vermeiden bzw. zu minimieren, muss man das Harz schon ein wenig angelieren lassen. Dann steigt die Viskosität und die Frrben vermischen sich nicht so stark.

How do you mount the bands?

The band attachment on this slingshot is caller Topslot attachment. You have to roll the end of your Bandset 1-2 times. Then stretch it and slide it into the slot at the fork, down until it's ground. Roll it a little further and then release the stretching. The band will stay in place. Search KZbin for tutorials about that. 😉

I used Epoxi and acrylic colors. The core is aluminum.

The core is 5mm aluminum and the scales are made out of Epoxid resin.

I have not posted the template anywhere. But this is not such a special design. There are similar designs you can find with Google. Or you start your own design. It's Realy not a big deal. 😉
