Looking so much better than before - and staying much cleaner so far! How often do you guys clean your Rangies? Do you detail them yourselves?

Some interesting tips there, thanks. Mine is garaged in Latvia/Austria and used for about a week at a time, about 7 times a year. I use a local jet wash (they’re proper ones over there, with separate functions for hot rinse, shampoo spray, shampoo brush, hot wax, demineralised water, even the special compound for wheels);which I do just before putting it to bed every time I return home (although it’s garaged I still cover it because of dust etc.) On top of that it gets steam cleaned underneath every year, just before it’s annual T40 rustproofing application (a good investment in those climes.) I go to “KROWN” for that.

It looks fantastic. You would never think it has +200k miles on from the way it polishes up.

This always does a good job in bringing the gloss back but at the same time you're cutting even more of the clear off the car to get it optically flat again, and factory clears are notoriously thin, it's not so much getting the scratches out but more taking the clear off evenly to the depth of the scratches, not that I'm knocking, just saying thinner clear means faster uv degradation, I guess the main thing is how generous were LR with the clear on them, I'm guessing they were sprayed electrostatically, would be interesting to find out.

@@SamsMotors I can recommend Autobrite Tyre Conditioner (the yellow stuff) - leaves a nice, natural finish after you've cleaned them, not the artifical shiny finish, and no sling up the bodywork?

Thanks Sam, another great wee vid on the L322. When you finished it the Santorini Black was showroom standard. Reminded me of Harry at Harrys Garage, whose says it's an everyday Bentley. Yes, always wash and detail my 2011 4.4 RR. Mainly because all the seals needs careful drying, especially the tailgate, of which the upper always rusts along the bottom, just had mine fixed at the body shop, good for another 10 years now.... Ahoy there Sam in the land of the horizontal rain. On the windscreen "front" Yrs ago in the US a good friend who ran truck swore by always coating the windscreens and side windows with Rainex. Returning to Europe sourced it out and found it was used often by bikers to keep their visors clean. Anyways since then and for the last close on 29 yrs have used it always on the vehicles be they "slippery" , a P38a or the brick like aerodynamics of a LR series 3. Travel over 20mph and you need never use the wipers. Seems to deture the frost too Have fun and plenty rust free miles more...

Great job Sam. Yes always cleaned / detailed myself. Typically give it Snow foam to start and spray wax and tyre dressing to finish to bring out the Black. All door/boot/bonnet/fuel cap shuts wiped and cleaned. In summer, once clean, and used for a day would give it a wipe over before putting cover back on in the evening. Got a south facing drive so it's in sun constantly hence the cover. 👍 Keep it up, got starter motor on the to do list, starting to get a click and no start, but intermittent next warm weekend hopefully. 😊👍

Hey Sam, loving the videos on the L322 and especially the P38 as I recently bought a 1997 P38 myself, however the clear coat is peeling off on many spots, not sure if you'll see this, but on the off chance you do, any ideas how to fix it myself or should i bring it straight to the shop for a repaint?

Great video showing how to wash and detail a car without a power washer (not everyone has one) . Does the final coating need to cure before it can go out in the rain ? some coatings need 24-48 hours .

Yes this is a very good point - the car should be left for at least 24 hours ideally before heading out into the elements. Thanks for pointing that out!

Hi Sam , RR looked very nice after it’s detailing , I have a 2011 over finch that has broken my heart and my wallet over the last 13 months 😳🙄🥴 The recent breakdown was a front diff it exploded even burnt the breather hose off the top so my Saturday consisted of a very good mate his 3.5 ton lift and a new/ second hand diff ,, I’m shocked that went ,, just wondering if anyone else has had this issue ps while I was under mine it to could do with that dust guard 😞😞😞 great vids keep it up nice one 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

@@SamsMotors Hi Sam there was a bit left, I’m undecided as to what to do as I love the car but it just seems one of those cars 😂,, I’m in the trade body shop side not mechanical and not many people like repairing RR that’s the issue getting some one who wants the graft PS tip when mopping put masking tape on the panel next to the one you’re polishing because it will take the paint off on the corner you probably already know 👍🏻👍🏻

Rob C , Join the cub, like you, my log pile disappeared before the end of January, new load just delivered,. John Burke, I do appreciate how you must feel, however, your situation is quite normal and a totally unacceptable part of being a member of the Range Rover Club. Sam, great job, no doubt whatsoever you brought the vehicle back to looking better than it did when it left the factory, personally I have had Land Rovers for more than 60 years, still have a L322, I have discovered, over time that all the polishing you can give it, although it looks great, doesn't keep the wheels turning, its what we , in the engineering trade would refer to as being ''Chromium Plated'' nice and shiny on the outside with rubbish underneath . Don't get me wrong, I love my Land Rovers. Best M .

It wasn't the best video demonstration of the hydrophobic coating, because A) I was only doing around 40mph, and B) it was a light mist of rain as opposed to large drops. Under normal conditions It works a lot better than any Rain X coating I've used, and should last a lot longer.
