I recently found this video and am very anxious to start making my own sign. However, I can't seem to find the medium laser shape boards. My Michael's doesn't carry them. Is there a substitution, or a specific area of the store you found yours at? Also, I'm SO not someone that works with wood, and don't have a regular saw. I only have the small one from dollar tree. Will that work, or do I need an expensive saw? Thanks!!

Can you please tell how wide these planks need to be for all of the letters? You are assuming that we can find these particular packets of wood planks at the craft store. We've got height but please tell us the width.

@@garywood7700 I did some measuring. It looks like all the letters with the exception of the "D" are to be 2.5" wide, and the D is 3.75" wide.

@@garywood7700 Actually, I laid out a mock-up of the planks using just paper, with the lettering provided in the pdf, and it looks like the planks should be 2.75" wide, which will allow for the edges of each to be "aged" without encroaching into the lettering. That will allow the major beam to which all of the letter planks to be glued to be roughly 30" across, depending on the space you establish between each letter.

this looks nothing like simply kennas. the letter blocks are browned and the colors are way more saturated. she didn't use flags either. you know what they both look like though?!?!! the original disneyland sign! no kidding! it's as if the original design existed somewhere other than your channel! for, dare i say it, ALL people to create DIYs off of?!

Anastasia Zombie I couldn't find them either but there is a pack in the creatology section of michaels, (kids crafts) small wood planks and I just used two of those. I think they were a couple of dollars.

SpongeGar honestly you can’t tell if it or if it isn’t. The Disney sign is online and there’s other users who may have made a similar replica to this one. There’s so many possibilities/ways of where simply_kenna got this idea from. Not trying to defend Kenna but it’s only fair that we don’t argue over about who made the video that sparked simply Kenna’s DIY to be made

@@judithdegraaff4615 I made my big D 3 and 1/4 inches wide and my small letters 2 and 1/2 inches wide. Turned out nice. I had to cut mine too because Micheals no longer has the wood she shows. Not here anyhow.
