I've been twisting with flaxseed gel with EVOO (extre virgin olive oil) and rosemary essential oil for months. It's my go to gel choice because my hair likes it, it's all natural, and handmade by ME! I only make enough to last me 2-3 weeks, and toss any leftover after that. You can put it in a plastic applicator bottle and refrigerate it - very easy to apply neatly to your fingertip that way. So cheap - you can get a small bag of seeds very inexpensively, too! The hold is not extreme, after about a week (my hair has a looser pattern; maybe longer hold for more tightly coiled hair, but no build up, and nutritious for your locs!

Thank you so much for posting!!! I have seborrheic dermatitis and have a had time finding a commercial loc gel that doesn’t irritate my scalp. This works wonders for me!!!!

Thank you so much for putting this video out! I stress to my clients ALL the time about healthy hair options n how to protect your hair from damage. I don't use gels or waxes to retwist n ppl look at me crazy all the time, but this gives me so much reassurance for my teachings n loc maintenance. I promote healthy hair and healthy souls, and this video will serve as a teaching tool for many. Much big ups to u n ur compassion for a healthy loc journey.

Empress Yahnica can I just ask you why you think it worked better on your hubby Hair than yours? Could it be you have different textures?? Just wondering..🤔😊
@empressyahnica91777 жыл бұрын
Yes, I think it was the texture difference. I did both retest on freshly washed loss.

I’m having trouble straining the oil. I’ve bought two different kinds of panty hose and they both seem difficult to impossible to strain through. Any suggestions? What stockings did you use in the video?

I had no idea Rosemary oil helped with bald spots. I just turned 20 but I dreaded when I was 18 and it wasn't until then that I noticed that the back of my head has 2 noticeable patches of pure scalp. Restarting my journey and looking for PURE natural products this time even if it means making it myself. I can't trust nothing in those plastic bottles smh

hahaha word the plastic bottles be having things in it that you can not even pronounce

Please, please report back with how long your retwist lasted. I have seen several videos on this and everyone's retwist comes out so dope but no one has said how long it lasted for them before they saw frizziness, etc. Love your videos and now back to the video 😉

HELP!!!! HAHA! In a previous video you mentioned how some of your LOCS when retwisted will come unravel at the root. You said that your hair is fine and may contribute to the unraveling. I am having the same problem with some of my starter LOCS. I use Talijah Waajid to retwist and clip twist down. Once I moisturize or mist my hair when my LOCS need a pick me up, some come undone. I should just leave them be, huh?

I've tried flaxseed gel and aloe vera gel to retwist my hair but they both made my scalp itchy. Do you know of any other natural alternatives? Thanks ♥️
@Windsingerful7 жыл бұрын
Aloe makes my scalp itchy, too, so I just avoid it. Fortunately, that doesn't happen with the flaxseed gel. Maybe cut the aloe with an oil you know your hair likes might work better?
