I'm glad you like it! I spent a while trying to figure out how to easily give the dogs a controlled space to run without taking the time to set up aerial dog runs or fences. This was a simple solution that I didn't see anywhere else so thought I'd share it. Good luck with yours :)

Thanks for the tip just moved on to a two acre property and needed some way to keep my dog from going into the street while still giving him the freedom to run around and play . This is great!

Ohhh I like the idea of having the run low instead of high up

Nice! I’m curious how this idea has been working for people. If you end up giving it a try, let me know how it worked out.

I love this idea! You mentioned when people come over with a dog, you have somewhere to put them. Have you used this with multiple dogs at the same time? How do you do that? How do you keep them from getting tangled? I'd love to do this for our dogs!!

I’m glad you like it :) I spent a while thinking it up. I’ve only actually tried one dog at a time. Let me know if you do try with two how it works. I’m sure you could keep them separated completely with stop-knots and shorter ropes, but that’d greatly decrease the area they can roam around.

Hi, after a year since you’ve done this project I was just wondering how it has held up. A great idea by the way!!
@thelifeofriley76682 жыл бұрын
It isn’t used much because we don’t have a dog, but it is still installed and operational. We detach the rope from the earth anchors when it’s not in use and store it in a bucket.
@eliromero70143 жыл бұрын
How does that work with cutting grass? Do you just take it out?
@thelifeofriley76683 жыл бұрын
The anchors are below the surface of the grass so I just mow over them. I only clip the ropes on when a dog is here. Thanks for watching!

Go around it??

Which is the rope? The one attached to the collar or the ground??
@thelifeofriley76683 ай бұрын
There are two ropes. One rope is on the ground. The second rope is attached to the dog's collar on one end and attached to the ground rope on the other end. Hope that helps.

Does the dog not trip in its own cord leash or does it get jolted when it gets to the end of the line
@thelifeofriley7668 Жыл бұрын
Nope, the dogs don't seem to have any issues like that. There's a natural spring when the dog runs to the end of its rope in any direction (except exactly in line with the ground line).

Does he get tangled in the rope?
@thelifeofriley76685 ай бұрын
Nope, it’s just a grassy field. Nothing to get caught on.

I have 90 acres.... might do this right in the middle so they have 45 acres on each side to run lol

Dragging that 1,000 foot long rope around would be a good workout for your dog!

How do You cut grass without ruining your mower when it hits the cable
@thelifeofriley76682 жыл бұрын
I just unclip the rope and keep it in a bucket when not in use. The anchors are underground so the mower doesn’t hit them.

This is fantastic. I wonder if I can tie two dogs onto one of these at the same time?
@thelifeofriley7668 Жыл бұрын
Sorry I didn't see your comment when you first posted it. Did you end up trying to put two dogs on one line? How did it work?
@Lou_Mansfield Жыл бұрын
probably could use a second line, but attached to the same anchors so both dogs can move independently
