HI Shannon! I made two book pumpkins for my desk at work... (now retired =) I gave them a light spray of orange Rustoleum and they are still beautiful after 4 yrs. I did not cut the book in quarters, but I can see that doing that would make it soooo much easier to cut the pumpkin shape. It also spreads out more evenly that way. You've inspired me to make another one... this time keeping it paint free. I love the other three pumpkins as well. Thanks for all your inspiration ~ Maria

Simple and fun! The farmhouse trend is pretty darn cute. My favorite is the jute pumpkin because I don’t have one like it in my collection. To add some color you can lightly paint the paperbook edges with orange paint then letting it dry before dividing the book. Gold or silver paint is pretty too. The paper book can be changed into many shapes: a turkey body shape to dress up like a turkey for Turkey Day or an Xmas tree, Easter egg or a Valentine’s Day heart shape. The wire wreath pumpkin is promising. It might be a bit cuter to add another wreath to evoke a better pumpkin shape. A lot of people are making the DT frying pan mesh cover pumpkins too which are cute.

I was searching for a book with iPad in hand while you were assembling your book pumpkin ...... then running to my cabinet to grab my unopened package of sisal rope from Walmart... then OH MY goodness ... now I know what to do with the wire wreath I almost threw away... I have tons of Burlap ribbon for a Baby Show and oh my....I have a pumpkin to cover with. T-shirt !!!!! You have made my DAY! I am extremely excited !!!
