DIY DollarTree Sea "Glass" Float Bouy Ornaments | Coastal Christmas Decorating on a Budget

I knew my first Christmas in our Beach House I would have fun decorating our Christmas Tree. But, Ornaments are SO expensive. I wanted to load the tree up with Glass Float Bouy Ornaments, but had sticker shock when I saw they cost a fortune!
When my KZbin friends wanted me to jump in on their Dollar Tree Christmas Ornament Collab, I knew this was my chance to make my own using DT items! The real Glass Floats I found on Amazon were almost $10 each, and I ended up making my own for less than $1 each! My Coastal Christmas wont break the budget after all!!

I made one with you. Sure had a time with circle at starting point. Turned out ok for first one. Finally tracked down liquid coloring. Did one drop of blue. Was really dark when dry. Next time I will use a tothpick and add color. Had so much fun. Many thanks.

I love your sea bouye ornaments. They are very pretty. I found bags of shells at Wal-Mart. They cost about. $ 5.00, but there were so many that I felt it was worth the price. Uve used them in lots of application and still have almost half a bag left. I love the tea light one. It is very pretty

What in the world was that loud sound at 17:00? Here I am, sitting in the living room with all the lights off, it's midnight, all my attention is on the video and DING!!!💥 Scared the livin' bejeezus out of me! I love these buoy ornaments and am definitely going to make them (I live on the water in Florida, so they're perfect), but it's a good thing I wasn't making them along with the video. There would have been glitter and mod podge all over the ceiling. 😁 I guess I'm just a little jumpy ever since a car was going too fast around the corner and hit our house one night a while back.

I think it may help some of us if the actual ratios of water and mod podge were given. My ornaments have been drying for days now...still dripping and look terrible. I am normally pretty good at crafting, so the only thing I can think of is that my mixture was not thin enough...hopefully these dry sometime in the next few days so I can either finish them or re-purpose them. Cute idea :)

I ended up using the warm setting of my hair dryer (moving it around) & they changed as I was doing them. That was after 48 hours of "air dry."

I so love these! I live near a beach, but we never have anything even close to looking like your shells. We only have itty bitty fan type shells. And rarely find sand dollars anymore. They'd be too fragile to use, but I love em! Are you east coast? Or west coast? I hope you have other coastal DIYs. I just found you tonight, but look forward to watching more of your videos.
