It's safe to say installing door 2 went way better than door 1. What do you all think of the paint tests? We're leaning towards Tricorn Black for the entire house. And what about the copper lights? They really pop at night. We hope you enjoy this weekend's episode. -T&R

Every time you look up, you will say, “ dang, why didn’t we spend the extra money on the gutters that we both loved so much?” This is your forever home, so do it! Hi, guys! When I replaced my gutters a few years ago, the contractor had an array of different finishes to choose from, and one of them was faux copper, which I chose. It looks like the real thing at a fraction of the cost. The guttering was also about 6" in diameter, which can handle a lot more rainwater than the typical size. I get a real charge out of your antics, so thanks for sharing that. Especially putting words in Wally's mouth, which EVERY pet parent does. It's a requirement.

Me too. I love the black. Don't paint the gutters copper. You don't want to emphasis gutters. But I would paint your deck a more subtle color.

Love those lights!!! Happy the 2nd door went in easier. Seems like the 2nd time around we learn from the first go round. My mama neglected to tell me how important it was to find a husband who is talented in carpentry. My husband barely knows how to hammer a nail so I learned a lot myself. You guys are amazing! Anyway, cracked pepper or the matte black paint would be winners, it’s all a matter of what “suits your fancy.” lol I’ve gotten all of my fall decorating done even though the temps were high 80’s down here in middle GA…I couldn’t wait. Flat finishes on houses works much better than gloss and satin finishes. Gloss and satin finishes show defects. Glad you settled on your paint choices. Not only is copper expensive it is also easily and often stolen. You might arrive at your cabin with all the copper stripped off of it. Good video

@@toddandrob Tricorn black was also one of our choices, I will say thou I purchased the paint from Lowe’s and splurged for the Valspar Duramax 365 and wow how I was surprised on the quality of the paint and one of the coolest things was their claim that dirt will just wash off with a hose, it’s true it really does.

The only way to prevent the rot is to install a storm door in front of the new door, it looks good and you have a great helper in Wally.

I need a Todd in my life because I have so many jobs that I need help with that I cannot do by myself. I wish companies would put some stuff so all you have to do is just unwrap it and put it together easily. Also my biggest woe is that that what they tell you what to do is in drawing and I am more of a person that likes the written words. These companies say that you should contact their help department but when you do you are on hold for ever before you get help that does not really help you. I remember years ago that the companies really had people that came to your home and did custom service, now it is terrible. Sorry for complaining so much but when you are ill it is so hard. Hope you have a great week ahead.

Re: sticking door. Nail coarse sandpaper to the frame that the door is sticking on. Go in/out as usual. Soon the sandpaper will have sanded the door off just enough so it will close nicely w/o dragging...😊

We're leaning towards Tricorn Black but adding the copper lights and all so that it complements the warm light coming out of all the windows in the evening. We've been loving it so far in the areas we painted. That and the dark greens from the vegetation around, it really pops!🤞

We're not sure if these are online anywhere. Culpeppers builds them based on the different individual pieces that we chose.
