Attic fans are used to keep mold away, circulation to help remove any moisture...besides the heat build up in attic. Use the peel and stick wallpaper over the entire wall and electric box would help it disappear

The floor idea is beautiful but you just need to ask yourself: "will I be tired of this look n a few years? if the answer is probably yes, then you may want to stick to a classy, yet "timeless" look.. and then just do a diamond patterned rug at the front door. Love your passion for creating your dream home.

@@YoungLadyBusiness I think the fact that you will keep the floor tones really light and minimal and everything on the walls feels minimal with a pop of beige, I think those floors will be gorgeous. That pattern is timeless, that’s why it always comes back in style. Very Neutral tho!

For the electrical box, maybe build a cupboard style cabinet over it, so then when you open the cabinet you'll be able to access the electrical box.

I love arches but I think it might close things in especially because you have uneven walls it looks like, ( the brick juts out into the hall and the opposite wall is flat, the hall way walls start at two different places) 5:36. What you might do to test it out is do a mock up with foam board and tape and live with it for a bit. See if 1) it works to place arches in those places or how much you’d have to build up with framing, and 2) see if you feel it closes the space even further/ loses light it’s currently getting from the living room windows… The hard problem is the house has a very MCM structure which isn’t very arch friendly :( the other hard part is midcentury hallways were pretty darn narrow! Also remember even the wall panel treatments, even with light paint start to encroach the space, plus pegs and such you can lose a good half a foot or more in an already small space. I mean the black paint not turning out is ok since it’s just paint, but I would hate to have it not work the way you hope for after doing all the work! If it turns out the hallway opening arches can’t work, you can still do the closet and even possibly some other areas in your house: that bathroom storage area, or maybe make your living room ikea units into built ins with arches? Or maybe other places?

I love arches too, but I think it would make your space more closed in. Also, I think it would be cute if you keep the floors natural and but a diamond pattern runner in the entryway. Keep the attic fan. Your home is coming along beautifully.

I love the idea of the archways. For the electrical box I say do some artwork. For y’alls extras winter coats; I think maybe a clothing rack in the laundry room. Or possibly make a hallway closet.

Oh my gosh growing up my parents had an attic fan. We did not have air-conditioning. The attic fan was a lifesaver! I don’t know how we would’ve made it through summers without it.

The attic fan is expensive to remove and repair. I covered mine with the styrofoam panels and it looks like a feature. The electric box- cover with hinged art so you could just push open to get to box.

Lol. Sorry in advance y'all, for the book I'm about to write haha: -I think you should leave the attic fan how it is. It's a charming cool feature, it's not something that you see often in homes! -For the electrical box maybe you could paint it a neutral color, or same color as the wall so it blends better. I was thinking too it might be cute to frame it, (kind of like how you did your bedroom tv) to match the picture frames that you will hang in the hallway. That way it will look cuter and you still have easy access to it. -I love your idea for the floors! With the diamond pattern. -I think either wall panels or bead board would look gorgeous! The bead board with the diamond floor might look more vintage. The panels would probably look more modern paired with the floor while still adding some charm. I think it will look good either way. -I think the arches will be pretty, my only concern is for the one leading into the living room. I noticed there's brick on one side so it might be difficult to add the arch there. But if there's a way to do it I say go for it! -Can't wait to see the mudroom/closet area! I love the wallpaper idea too. Maybe y'all could store your extra winter coats in the guest bedroom closet? -Lastly I think the blueprints would look so precious in the office. I really like the new door. For more privacy, you can also just add a pretty curtain. My front and back doors both have nice big windows, and I added nice sheer curtains for privacy as needed but without blocking the light. I think it's a great idea to brighten the space with lighter paint tonal colors with a deeper tone at the bottom and the lighter tone at the top. Regarding the floors, I think you should have the floors uniform throughout to match the living room, and just place pretty rugs in the pattern you like, this way if you get tired of the pattern it's not a big expense with a lot of work to change. For the winter coats, I'd suggest putting them in those vacuum packing bags, and store them that way to save space during the warmer months. It's a game changer for limited closet spaces.

Panels for the bottom I think it will make the space look taller. The attic fan is one of the things I miss growing up the breeze coming through the house was everything. But it was loud so yeah. It’s rare to find homes with them.

I think whatever wallpaper you do in the closet do that same wallpaper on the wall with the electrical box. Cover the electrical box thingy with the wallpaper as well. That way in blends in.

Hey as far as the electric panel, think about a canvas print. Why canvas? They have the wooden frames around them so that it will fit right over the panel, and will remove for easy access. The pattern on the floor sounds fun. Try making some black squares out of cardboard and placing them in the space to see if its something you might like. It will not be 100% as far as what it would look like but it should give you an idea to go on before committing to something more permanent. Of course if it were me, I would just try it and see if i can live with it for a while. If not, I would change it.😊 I hope this helps a little. 🥰

Put the winter coats in containers and put in the shed in the back, if they don’t fit anywhere under the beds. I don’t like the floor design, but you usually have vision, so I’m not worried. I like the bead board. Idea, and I like the new door. The pebbles in the narrow hallway may get in your nerves at some point.

Create a door picture or mirror so it opens like a door over that electrical box so u can get to it if needed ! The ceiling maybe cover with boards like shiplap if possible ! Love your channel !

I Love ❤ the idea of arches, I would make a wood box to cover the electric box. A color wood the same as your goodwill table, wall wood art just that side. The wood art the size of a 55-inch tv or ceiling to floor. Keep the floor natural, as after a while, you will get tired of looking at them with the diamond shape. A rectangular mirror will look best.

With the wall paper, if you have textured walls make sure that you "skim coat" your walls and after it dries sand it down until smooth and paint it with a primer. So your wall paper sticks. Removable wallpaper won't still to textured walls. 😊

Hi, I would not do the floor design because that do age a room, make all your floors match and that will also help with the value of the home as well, as far as the electric panel box, paint it the same color as the wall and it will just blend in and not be noticed as much if any at all, the front closet, I would suggest that you as the home owner do not store your coats there, only use it for guest and I would put a hall tree there with an umbrella holder at the bottom for guest only and I would also suggest a couple of shelves on the side walls and the wallpaper on the back wall as an accent feature. You and Marcus are really doing an amazing job with your home and the teamwork is amazing, keep up the awesome work. I can't wait to see the next color for the kitchen door, LOL!

I have a utility box in my laundry room. I use magnets to cover it. It is already painted the color of the wall. a nice picture would work, I have a wooden sign hanging from a magnetic hook. It doesn't take away from getting into the box and it doesn't stand out like a soar thumb.

Love all of the ideas. When picking a wallpaper, pick a neutral floral. That way, when you design the space and change out decor, it all flows together. ❤ The black diamond pattern would be the best choice to balance out with the black door knobs if you decide to do this.oh, and 1 more thing. 😂 I've seen alot of coat closet benches built off of those wooden cubes. Frame out the electrical box like you guys did the tv. Paint the attic fan black. 😊

It’s a cool part of the house history so just paint it the same color as the ceiling. I never seen one before but I think it’s cool. ❤

Hey, for your winter coats, I would vacu pack them, I put a dryer sheet in with ours to keep them fresh and then put them in a plastic box that fits under the bed. Please check with your insurance company to see if you can put styrofoam panels in your home as some companies do not insure you as they are classed as a fire hazard. I love the ideas for the entryway and really like option two for the walls with the panels. Whatever you do will look amazing! ❤

They have videos you can use two picture frames on hinges to make a “box” that can cover the electrical box and or thermostats. You just lift/open it to access the box. When needed. Most people just put art prints in them.

An attic fan can help to cool that area of your home significantly! As well, more windows in your front door letting in more light (which is awesome!) will bring more heat to that area - so you might want to consider getting the attic fan up & running if possible. And if u do decide to go that route then finding a nice looking perhaps more architectural in design panel w/opennings to cover it - so you of course done't loose the benefit of the fan! Just something to consider! As for the electical panel in the hallway - a nice piece of art may be the way to go - assuming u will still need access to that! If your plan is to repair the attic fan in the future, I don’t think you should get rid of it. I would give it a fresh coat of paint. You should do panels on the walls. No design on the floor. Keep the floors consistent throughout the home. Get a rug of you want a design. Excited to see how everything comes together.

For the electric panel, Marcus could make a custom size frame. Then you could cover it with a pretty upholstery fabric as the canvas.

Hey, I do love the arches idea I think it would bring more character to the home. However it might loose some light or it might feel closed in. Not sure about that diamond pattern on the floor. For electric box you could do artwork or paint it so it's matches the walls. For the coats you may need to pop it them in the laundry room or in the office closet.

Hey, Kayla. Concerning the drywall, this guy, I want to say, said something about mudding and taping 3x (sanding in between) to make sure he had a smooth finish. I was watching him a few days ago. It is a kitchen video, but he replaces the drywall and in this one he has to redo his ceiling as part of the process. I want to say that is where you get to see it. He may have also mentioned something about going having another video where he goes into further detail. Hope this helps. Oh, and - ThisGeorgiaClay - did their entryway similar to your pictures. Definitely a piece of artwork on a hinge that still gives access to the panel underneath. Do not drywall over the fan, at some point, with the land you have and the future you are building you may decide to invest in making the fan operational. Just clean it up and let it blend for now. Do a classic stain on the floor. As often as you like to change door colors, the opportunity to change runner rugs seems to be the best idea.

Lol my apartment has those old school push and lock door knobs. They are pretty common in older buildings but definitely dont see them much anymore
