I just Purchased a Benelli M2 it's a '21 model. I believe It came with pre-tapped holes filled with some sort of plastic. I am putting a pic-rail on it so I can mount a dot on it. I am not 100% certain it has the aforementioned holes which is why I searched this video. I appreciate you putting this up because now Im covered if the holes aren't there. 😎

Awesome, thank you for watching. Goodluck with the new weapon.

Thanks for posting this vid. I have the same issue with my new M2 Tactical and couldn’t find any info on how to mount a sight. It was a gift so, I can’t complain but dang, it’s gonna take a lot of precision to get it like yours. Nice Job !!

Thanks for watching. The process really wasn’t too bad. Good luck.

Got my m2 drilled and tapped for 125 dollars for sumtoy mount . I put the Burris fastfire on and have really enjoyed it

I would have used a meadow creek rib mount ...

It’s a good option, I just wanted my optic farther back.

You did a great job The only thing I would suggest was to use a tapping block to tap the hole
@BuffaloCreekOutdoorsOfficial8 ай бұрын
I tried to do this video for guys to do with minimal tooling. If not for that, I would have done this job on a mill. A tapping block would be a great option as well for those that have one, and would definitely make things more accurate.

Coming from a 20" Mav88, it's pretty simple, but there isn't much visual aid on doing this.

Too bad they no longer offer the 21” barrel in the M2. That makes for an awesome turkey gun imo. I’ve had mine for 15-20 years now. My goto gun for waterfowl and turkey. Quick pointing and easily maneuverable in tight places.

I would 100 % buy one.

How's it holding zero after putting some rounds through it? I was told not to drill and tap Aluminum Shotgun Receivers without installing steel reinforced inserts or Helicoils first. Was told aluminum wouldn't have the tensile strength to counter the mass of the mount optic and recoil. Maybe that's for Big optics and not such a worry for lightweight RMR SRO types?
@BuffaloCreekOutdoorsOfficial7 ай бұрын
I’ve had no issues with losing zero, or screws coming loose or stripping out. I put it through its paces this year in 4 different states, and she is still holding strong.

That mount should work on multiple shotguns correct? I was looking to do something like this on a Maxus II. Is the Benelli receiver aluminum too?
@BuffaloCreekOutdoorsOfficial9 ай бұрын
It will work as long as you drill and tap your gun specifically for that mount. If your gun is already drilled and tapped, it may not work. Also, yes the benelli receiver is aluminum.

@@BuffaloCreekOutdoorsOfficial Thanks for getting back! That is a sweet setup you have! I love the red dots since they work well with my eyes. We have a Burris on my daughter's SA20 Turkey.

Great video, did you reach back in to see how far the screws went past the aluminum into the receiver? Wasn't sure if the bolt could touch them.
@BuffaloCreekOutdoorsOfficial10 ай бұрын
I did, the screws are flush inside the receiver. I was worried about that as well.
@jessemizell62729 ай бұрын
Is there any risk of the screw penetrating to deep into the mechanism of the gun?
@BuffaloCreekOutdoorsOfficial9 ай бұрын
There’s always a risk, but my screws were flush with the bottom of the wholes. In the case that they were not, I would have gotten a slightly shorter screw.

I tried cheating and throwing a truglow mount on but it was way too high. This is much better

I’m going to drill & tap a Benelli Nova Tactical. I purchased 8-40 tap, but you’re saying I need to drill a 28 inmil(?) (in mule) then hand tap the threads. I can’t just drill my 8-40 tap?
@sambro913410 ай бұрын
…end mill? I’m from Colorado and your accent is throwing me off😂
@BuffaloCreekOutdoorsOfficial10 ай бұрын
You can use a drill bit, but the high speed “end mill” cuts a much cleaner hole in the hardened receiver.

you had BALLS doing that with a hand drill instead of a press
