That is extremely creative and cute. I would have to watch again to see how you did some of the unfolding. You could possibly add Velcro dots to the inside of the flap and bottom of mask for extra protection when the flap is down. Very nice.

Thank you for your work. When not in use the flap is down and covers the opening what's the problem. Worry about the people that don't wear a mask at all or have their fat nose sticking out.

The problem is viral particulates can both enter & exit through the hole around the flap which renders the mask useless

I doubt this would be effective unless you could find some way of sealing around the sides and bottom when it’s in the closed position. Otherwise it lets germs in and out and defeats the purpose of wearing a mask. I love the concept though.

I like the design. People are complaining but I'm quite sure many are going in markets where other hands have been on the products before the arrival to the markets and while at the markets.

Hands is one thing. Allowing viral particles to leave the mask renders it useless. Just because theres a flap doesnt mean its sealed, particles can still exit through the opening & around the edges of that flap so thered be no stop to the spread. Might as well make a mask out of tule , same thing

I made and loved your mask and shared with some people. And they criticized saying this: "Uh", "it's not safe", "it's useless". It irritated me because this mask has several layers and still I can add another layer for pocket filter to add extra cover. So I responded to them saying: It's not safe when you are bare face, it's not safe when go to restaurant and remove completely your mask to eat or drink, they are being contradicting. Their so called safe and effective mask they removed to eat and drink, and now is saying that the drinking mask is not safe. Give me a break. And I even said that this mask still can be added another layer behind the front cover to place filter and besides this mask is very popular, many people are embracing.

I designed this mask because people tend to pull the mask under the chin when drinking water or sometimes take off and put on the floor which may get a virus. Then I think this face mask idea will be more convenient when drinking water without having to take off the mask. ^^

I Work in hospital kitchen where it is hot 75-80 degrees and have to wear a mask. I can't wait to make and give this a try. It seems a better way to get a quick drink of water and stay hydrated.

Just to also note. Top stitching the seam allowances to each side is also recommended. The only thing between you and the world are threads????? If making the midddle seam one also not recommended each double set of seams have to be pressed to the side.
