DIY Duckweed Grower

This is how I grow my duckweed so it doesn't wash away.
Common Duckweed, also known as Lesser Duckweed, is a common floating plant found in ponds, marshes, lakes, and quiet streams.
It is one of the smallest flowering plants in the world. Common Duckweed is usually seen in thick mats, covering the surface of the water, often along with other species of duckweeds.
Duckweed does not have stems or leaves. It has a round, slightly oval-shaped body, called a "frond." A small root-like structure, known as a "rootlet," hangs down from underneath. Fronds tend to grab each other, forming the thick mats.
Common Duckweed fronds are usually pale green, but can be a reddish-purple, and are no bigger than 10 millimeters.

Duckweed turning white then yellow then die off. Would somesone help me see what is wrong with my duckweed? Growing condition: 1) water temp less 30 degree C 2) sunlight cover: 30-50 percent. 3) Algea not seen, however a cloudy thin film is floating on water. 4) Nutrition not known, but roots longest are 20mm. average is 12mm. Last time it happened I add in a bit NPK fertilizer but it did not help. 5) First turning white then yellow then die 6) PH 6-6.5

Can you make a self sustainable chicken coop system which grows only on being fed duckweed and azolla? I want to build a system for feeding the poor(egg laying hens) but I don't know what's an easy, hygienic, safe, healthy and cheep way with little to no hassle for creating their feed.

I free range my chickens but we do keep baby chicks in tractors I could try it. My free ranger's stop by my duckweed ponds everyday

We dry it like you would dried herbs that is the best way I have found.

so great vid. question: my duckweed tank has now a LOT of what looks like dead vegetation all over the bottom. it is black. and now have algae covering the walls ( I was told partial sun ). what is the black stuff? is that duckweed growing? and should I clean the algae out?

The algae can take over and kill your duckweed but as long as your duckweed covers top of the water the algae won't win

just came across this vid. you used a 3/4" grommet for 1/2" pipe? so my guess is that a 3/4" grommet will not take a 3/4" pipe? I have some 3/4" uniseals which is of course for 3/4" pipe. with that, can I change all the pipe dimensions to 3/4" and 1" and get the same results?

When the tilapia are growing up I feed the 45% protein once a day. As adults yes thats all feed them except the insect pest that I want to get rid of myself Thank you for watching

Duckweed has 40% protein aswell, which is pretty high
