When I made some, I cut up to the middle so when I was done there was one, thin, uncut strip down the middle holding all the fringe on. It gave it a "lighter" look I guess, but it did seem flimsy-er. And when I made them earrings, I left a "stem" on the top of the feather and wrapped it in wire and left a loop on the top like you did for the key chain. But I think I like yours better, haha. (: I'm definitely going to make more. (:
