Hi guys, as promised, I've made variations for the Rectangle Earrings project. The first variation is minimal and modern, and the second variation is in Anthropologie style. Have you seen those before? I love them. :)
There'll be some new techniques in this video. I've incorporated wire wrapping in the earrings design. As usual, it could always be a little tricky when trying out a new technique, but you'll be fine once you get a hang of it.
Alright, let’s get started!
****************************************************************************
FOR MODERN EARRINGS
Material I used:
1. 20g round copper wire - cut into 80mm. - Find similar here: amzn.to/3G0v5Nx
2. Spacer beads 4mm x 2mm - 3 pcs
(You could use silver, aluminum, or gold-filled wires if you like, you could also use artistic wire for practice purposes, don't recommend it for wearing though. )
Tools:
1. Side cutter/Flush cutter - Find similar here: amzn.to/3MoVG9E
2. Flat nose pliers- Find similar here: amzn.to/3yU52X9
3. Triangle File- Find similar here: amzn.to/3Lv11L4
Earrings display- Find similar here: amzn.to/44LC4F0
FOR ANTHROPOLOGIE STYLE EARRINGS
1. 20g round 14k goldfilled (Half Hard) - cut into 80mm. - Find similar here: amzn.to/3MBLzOU
2. 28g round 14k gold-filled (soft) - cut into 10cm - Find similar here: amzn.to/39OrDda
Tools:
1. Side cutter/Flush cutter- Find similar here: amzn.to/3MoVG9E
2. Flat nose pliers- Find similar here: amzn.to/3yU52X9
3. Rhine nose pliers- Find similar here: amzn.to/3MfTHo7
4. Round nose pliers- Find similar here: amzn.to/3MiJ044
5. Triangle File- Find similar here: amzn.to/3Lv11L4
These DIY project is well manageable, you could make them as a gift for friends or maybe for Christmas. :)

Thank you...finally...your way of teaching is so great...I am able to follow your tutorials...when people try to talk through and explain too much at once...it is not possible for me to follow...it becomes a huge mess...thanks for keeping it visual and simple...also your designs are so great...✌💜

Oh Maggie! I just love your work and the simplicity of your teaching❤ You have such a lovely, patient personality - thank you so much for sharing your talents. I have started making polymer clay jewelry and I felt it needed a little something more - many years ago I was learning wire jewelry and I found my stash of tools and craft wire. I made some of your minimalist arch earrings for myself yesterday and I was hooked! Now I have something to compliment my clay peices ❤ So excited to keep working along side your tutorials🎉 Thanks again!

Aw….thanks so much for leaving such a wonderful comment for me. I’m so happy reading it and I’m so glad that you’ve made those arches and found my tutorials helpful for you. I love clay pieces too and think that they complement well with wire jewelry. Have fun making and enjoy your designing and making journey. 😊🧡

I love them, Maggie. Perfect as always. You're just the best. Everything you make is so modern and simple. That's what I love. I don't like all the froo froo jewelry. LOL.

Thanks J! I’m so glad you love them :) I just like to modernise every medium and design I’m working with, used to make some elaborate design too but had moved away from them for a long time ☺️

Thank you for sharing ! Quick question is it half hard or soft wire?
@MaggieCSAtelier
@MaggieCSAtelier 2 жыл бұрын
Hi I’ll recommend using half hard wires for the shape and soft wires for the beads.

Maggie, how do you get your wire to be so straight? I tried everything. I watched every tutorial out there and no matter what, when I try to get straight shapes, they always come out a little wonky. Your are perfectly straight. How do you do it? 😭
@MaggieCSAtelier
@MaggieCSAtelier 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Lucia. I always straighten my wires by hand with just a polishing cloth. So far it works best for me as I could feel the wires with my fingertips while straightening them. I also might straighten the wires again during the making process.

I wonder how easy it will be get that wire through your ears?
@MaggieCSAtelier
@MaggieCSAtelier 2 жыл бұрын
Very easy, as long as you smoothen the wire ends, they slide through your ear without problems. I’ve been wearing these myself ☺️✨
