One question, how can you get such a clean signal without external analog electronics?

Thanks, very useful, with this is possible to capture brain signals, like a alpha EEG signal? for example.

The processing code doesn't work and shows error. Sir, did you use the same arduino and processing code that sparkfun has supplied or you modified? If you did so, can you give me any direction? I have my project to submit very soon.

That's great. Do you have any sample code, for in particular the eye movement example you show (at around 6:54 minutes in)? I'd also like to know what electrodes (their colours) go where on the body, as you only appear to have 2 on your head?

Connect the Pin that is labeled "output" on the pcb of the kit to the "input" labeled "ch1" of your oscilloscope.

5:50 "It is impossible to view on an ordinary oscilloscope". Many scopes that have 2 or more channels have maths functions that effectively make them differential amplifiers. The relatively cheap Rigol ds1054z has 4 channels and it's maybe possible two have 2 differential channels.

ECG or EKG is a synthetic Greek word which consists of tree words.Not german. Electro from electricity [ilectron (amber) is a seed of a plant which obtain positive static charge by attrition on wool and was discovered by Thalis Milisios], cardio from kardia (heart) and gram from gramma (write,letter,graphema etc).

Hi, I liked this video , its gives more application of AD8232 aside from just ECG. I have purchased the same board and testing the board. I'm facing problem with the output signal which is very noisy. I have connected the board with 3.3V and connected the output to oscilloscope. All I can see is a noisy signal. Can you help me out with this? Thank YOu
@TranslatorsCafecom
@TranslatorsCafecom 8 жыл бұрын
Hi Santu, I had the same problem at the beginning. Most probably the signal is noisy because of bad contacts between your skin and the electrodes. Another cause of noise is switching power supplies and other electronic equipment. Try to make your experiments in a room without computers and other electronic equipment. Anatoly

TranslatorsCafe.com the output i am getting from this sensor is a square wave. I powered it using an Arduino Uno r3 (3.3volts). Could it be that arduino power is not stable enough? The provided electrodes were attached to right wrist(RA), left(LA) wrist and RL to right ankle bone

Thank you for your tutorial. I'm working on a similar project measuring the EMG and I have some question: 1- I tried to measure the electro-activity of my hand, I placed the electrode the same as shown in minute 6:34 (the yellow electrode is connected to a bone surface) but I can't get the same results. I have tried this experience several times, but I couldn't have a good signal. 2-the ECG frequency (0.5 Hz to 3 Hz) and the EMG frequency (20 Hz to 3000 Hz), how to modify the AD8232 schematic so that is can measure all the frequencies??

Hi,I loved the video. I purchased the AD8232 after watching the video. I am trying to make an EMG armband by this boards. I'm facing problem with the signals. They are throwing some random values. When,I close fist fist it shows the right signal but after that it again starts throwing some random values. I have placed the electrodes parallel on my arms. Do I need to change the electrode placement or something else? Please help me out with this? It will be much appreciated.
@TranslatorsCafecom

Hi Anugreh, try to make good contacts between your skin and electrodes. Also, try to move your equipment away from computers with switching power supplies and from fluorescent lamps. Don’t forget to put all three electrodes on your body and all three with good contacts with your skin.
@Anugreh1

Hey,I did all that. But,Still when I plug in the sensor,The signal doesn't go down from 300. And then,It just starts throwing random values.

how well does the ecg heart rate work while moving around? would i be able to type and move my mouse around while hooked up and still get a good reading?

It works, but with noise. Moving or even talking will distort the signal because of electrical activity generated by muscle movement. The signal from muscles can be stronger than the signal from the heart.

Actually, these are digital values. These need to be converted to voltage values based on your Analog to Digital Converters resolution.

The videos good but, you look like big brother on the cover picture with that stare. The pictures of you in the video are different and nice. Intimidation never wins with a picture. I don't know what your target audience or purpose is from the front picture. I really like everything else, the video does look very professional, really good job. Your knowledge of basic ECG / EKG is good and electrical engineering is good. I wish you went into a little more depth on possibility a differential op amp used to reduce the noise of the displayed ECG / EKG.

Hi Thomas. Thank you for your comment. I thought the cover picture resembles those in the video :). It was added on the cover just to show who is speaking. Please consider that my primary job is running TranslatorsCafe.com and these videos are just an attempt to tell people about the Unit Converter www.translatorscafe.com/unit-converter/en/charge/, which is the main part of the website.

Thanks for the reply. It's the style of the picture I was trying to help their are different communities. I was trying to help the noise is the problem with the sparkfun and I need the precordial leads but, it's great to get people involved in biomedical engineering. I'm studying cardiology I was looking for a 12 lead system an found your video. I'm having problems because some group put something in the Wholefoods etc... red cap water gallon of distilled water that's cause high blood pressure and now a different auscultation in my heart. Be careful a lot of sick gangs in NYC with sick doctors. Good luck.
