I liked that you made it from scratch, and the music, also the flowers on the underneath, and the chiffon layering. Okay, so I really liked everything thanks for making this tutorial

I think if i had one criticism it's that pressing/ironing the fabric would have made a big visual difference, but i love the creativity and simplicity of this method. The final product came out look great regardless!

Beautiful hat. I didn't think about using a straw hat for a base. Thank you for sharing.

This was a great starting point for the hat I want to make. KZbin is my turn to place for tutorial videos and I usually end up frustrated because most video's lack a dictator or the music is horrible. Nothing makes me exit out of a video faster than bad music. You made a very wise and enjoyable choice. I am going to be using the technique you used for covering the hat only using crushed velvet (hope it works). Thank you for providing this tutorial. It was just what I was looking for.

How did your hat turn out ?????
@smartypantsoohaah44192 жыл бұрын
@@diannenaworensky6698 Well, I ended up using poster board and a lot of glue to turn a round top hat into a flat top. I cut up a woman's pink blazer/jacket that was a light weight fabric to cover it. I used a black silk scarf with a pink and grey floral print to make a huge bow. Added some black ostrich feathers, pink and black silk roses and added some silver tulle. Even though there is an obvious seam out of place on the crown of the hat, I thought it turned out pretty good. The video was a huge inspiration.

I wish we could have seen the hat from the back. There seemed to be lots of extra material where the brim and crown meet. I think a thick ribbon would have been the perfect coverup for that. The flowers were nicely arranged.

What does the underside look like when you are gluing the fabric at the beginning? Do you cut a hole where your head goes in? I'm confused as to what to do. Pleas explain.

Hi Love your channel. Just a question. I know you love your 85mm 1.2 and your sigma 35mm art lens. If you had your chance to buy an 85mm lens again would you choose the canon 85mm 1.2 or the new sigma 85mm 1.4 art.

A nice satin ribbon or chiffon bow would have been nice, then add flowers around it. Givv it a bit more glam vs.... um... the lik girl next door. Does that make sense? Im not insulting it. But with a sweet pleats and extra material on it, the added poof would go a bit better. Like a tiny hairpin was used on a hairdo that should have been a claw clamp. Even better, a bow with both the satiny material AND chiffon over it, so you can see the inner bow through the sheer. Take iit from a girls hat to out on the beach mid class early 20s .

Thankyou for this tutorial. I was so excited to see this until the hot glue gun came out. My great aunt was a seamstress and milner when she was alive. I will do this project using more traditional methods as flowers, feathers and decorative elements were often changed out to change the hat for different events.
