So the oil will kinda dilute in the water ?? That’s wad concern me as im new to this and i wanted to make some eucalyptus spray
@KatieBookser
@KatieBookser 5 жыл бұрын
Yes the oil on it's own is very strong so it's important to blend it with water and something to preserve it like alcohol or witch hazel. The smell will still be plenty. It's similar to how an essential oil diffuser would work, adding oils to water which then disperses the scent. You can always adjust how many drops you use in order to suit your preferences.
@ToxikPizza
@ToxikPizza 5 жыл бұрын
How long does the scent last after spraying? I tried to make a solid cologne using citrus, rosemary, thyme, vetiver, and clove. I've never made cologne before and used the wrong amounts of the different oils. It smells really good, but not as a scent most men would wear. But I think the scent would make a really nice room spray for the holiday season if I experiment with it a little bit. This got me thinking about trying to make room sprays now. Lol
@KatieBookser
@KatieBookser 5 жыл бұрын
That sounds like a really nice scent! There are a lot of factors that come into play on how long the scent will last after you spray it - the amount of each oil that you put in, the size of the room, if you have any windows open. In my experience, I've been able to notice the scent for a couple of hours after I spray. Make sure to shake the spray before you use it each time. Another option if you want the scent to linger would be to try the blend with an essential oil diffuser. Good luck!

Can someone please let me know which of these can be used to make your own essential oil room spray.. Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol, Witch Hazel, or Vodka. The reason i'm asking is i'm getting conflicting recipes that you NEVER use the rubbing alcohol and you can't use the Witch Hazel.
@KatieBookser
@KatieBookser 5 жыл бұрын
In my experience the vodka is the best option, and is what I use, witch hazel being second. Rubbing alcohol can technically be used, but is the least preferable because of the strong smell and there are conflicting opinions on it.
