Hi Melanie, what a lovely box of goodies! That fabric is gorgeous, just like a bridesmaid dress I wore to my friend's wedding at Leeds Castle in Kent. Also, the marbled paper is divine. 🥰 💛💙💚 When you read Glynis' card I literally squeaked because of the tickets I just sent her. Serendipity at play for sure! Love when that happens. She will find out soon 😊 Glad you like my purse, I used some of my mum's buttons from her special tin. They are slowly going down 😌. Colour looked a good match also. Hi Melanie, it’s Glynis. I love what you did with the resources I sent you. Absolutely stunning! The cogs tie in with my engineering background, which is cool. Do you think freezer paper would work to stabilise delicate fabric? I also love how you used the stickers to create a collage with the sewing pattern paper. I’m going to try that technique 😊😊

Great idea, the freezer paper should work Glynis, the trick is to heat it just enough on the paper side for the coating to melt without damaging the fabric. It might be too rigid to fold in though. We’ll have to try it. I love that the cogs resonated with you. I’m always amazed at how the projects come together with everyone’s help and no prompting. Sail boats stamps and cogs from Louise! 😉🧵🦋

I love the journal and the way you put the smaller one into the cover i have always wondered how people do the hidden spines. Have you even had one come out the book after glueing it in?

Hi Kylie, This is based on a traditional method for booking binding. Nowadays we have much better glue that forms a stronger bond. I use a silicon based glue for this method to ensure it will stay together for archival purposes. However this journal was a personal project and somewhat thrown together using only the supplies I had on hand. If this was something to sell I would have used a chipboard cover with the end papers to add more strength. Thanks for watching 🦋
