When you are cutting the individual bricks or shingles what are they laying on? Loose dry concrete?

Brilliant! Thank you for posting your video. After recently building a fairy house out of fallen twigs/branches and another out of leftover landscaping pebbles and mortar, I wanted to branch out. Your approach to this fairy house is unique. I started the first layer on the balloon today. The only difference is that I used Quickrete Mortar Mix because I already have some. I really like the little trowel you used. Can you buy those in craft shops? I have a large one for big concrete work; too big for this project, though. Thank you again! Great job.

I'm really thankful that you find my video interesting, its my pleasure to know that you are taking this fairy house as an inspiration,I'm planning to post more fairy house video tutorials. The tool I used its basically a painting knife but it did a fine job for this project,I also used some sculpting tools for texturing .You can find them at stationary/painting or craft store I guess. Thanks again for watching my video.

Thank you! I will visit the art store this weekend. I applied the second coat of mortar this morning. You are very talented. What is your advice for the bricks? Do you have to let the cement sit for a few minutes before cutting the individual pieces and applying them around the door? Your craftsmanship is inspiring!

Yes! You have to leave the cement for a minute or so until it holds a nice shape.Wish you a success! Thanks for appreciating my work!

@@DIYCraftFusion Hi! I finished forming the door, windows, shingles and a variation of the top piece that you did. You noted in the video to use acrylic paint. Can I ask 3 questions: 1) do you have to coat the dried concrete with a sealant or something before painting? 2) When you are layering colors, as you did on the front door, do you let each layer dry before adding the next layer of color? 3) Does acrylic paint hold up ok outdoors? Thank you for your advice on this very fun project...I truly appreciate it!

@@trentmeidinger6160 Hello! Thanks for sharing your progress.I didn't use sealant,as for the colors, yes you have to dry first layer and then apply next or as required,by this way you'll achieve more even and vibrant colors and for outdoors I'll suggest to use clear varnish for long lasting colors.Have fun! Happy Crafting!
