❣DIY Fairy Shop using Cardboard❣

This video tutorial is about making a fairy shop out of cardboard. You will need cardboard, a jar, paper clay, hot glue and acrylic paint.
I start by gluing the cardboard walls and roof to the jar. The door and windows were cut before the actual gluing. Please stop asking for patterns. You will have a different jar and you can make a totally different house, you don't have to make this exact one. You can't go wrong if you try and draw some windows and a door. Worst case scenario you wasted some cardboard. After you glue the basic shape together you can start adding thickness to the door and windows by adding some stripes of cardboard to the edges. I added the cardboard shingles to the roof. I also made door and windows out of paper clay.
Next step is adding paper clay to the walls. When the first layer has dried it's time for adding details and textures. I added wooden beams here and there, some rocks and something you haven't seen me doing before... roof drains. I think they add so much character to the little house.
I used acrylics to paint the house. I applied light basic colors first for all the elements and added very diluted shades in the end to create contrast.
That's it. It can be an awesome piece of decor, or you can add some LED's under the house and make it a fairy lamp for the children room.

You inspired me way back to make fairy houses and I did loads, I even sold some on a Christmas market & also got commissions from my friends, so much so that I burned myself out. I haven't made one in over a year. Now after seeing this video it has inspired me to get my clay out again, I love this latest creation & yes as you say in the description the roof drains (gutters UK) add masses of character, I'm gonna try doing that on my next house. I love the way you used the straws to form the gutters with the Das brand air dry clay. They came out look so realistic. As well as the smoke pipe. It worked out very nice with the coffee carafe. I have ATTEMPTED lol a couple of your projects and the first time I did, I kept getting burned by the foil and hot glue. I learned that if I let my glue gun heat up then unplug it for a bit it will start to cool and I don't get burned as much. Of course I have to plug it back in after a but but its an old gadget so it's all good. Today I am going to make me a nearly tree trunk pen holder for my desk. Thank you.

I don't know if my experience will help you... I do similar projects and can't use a glue gun because of my cat. He is my permanent assistant.)) I had to get used to using polymer glue. It takes a little longer. But it works great.
