I just found your channel today, and I’ve now watched all your videos but two, so please share more content. If your going to use large amounts of salt wash better to make your own as it’s expensive to buy! Half plaster of Paris to half any texture of salt you like to get the affect your after 👍🏼

Hi Julia, can I use any paint for this?? I want to give this ‘concrete’ effect to an entire wooden dining table. I’m assuming I need to sand it down but do I need to aswell? & will this crack? Please reply, Thankyou ❤️

Could you substitute baking soda for the saltwash?
@chattykathie71294 жыл бұрын
I’ve never heard of this product. My daughter gassed lime wash. We use to use drywall compound to create texture, I wonder if that would give the same look, you could put some fine sand or salt in it

I'm wanting to do a small interior accent wall which looks like Tabby( a mix of concrete, sand, crushed oyster shells and seashells, used in old coastal homes in the Southern U.S. and probably elsewhere!) This looks like a beautiful foundation. I'm a bit inland and may see if I can get a good deal on some shells from a local Oyster Bar.

Loving this wall painting technique! Can it be done using vinyl matt leftovers and the mesh tool, or must it be chalk paint? (I believe chalk paint doesn't wear so well.)

Would talcum powder work? I know salt should be cheaper, but you can’t usually get it that fine.

Hi Julia...this is a great idea. I was wondering though, should you seal it with something? is there an issue of it brushing off on your clothes?
@JuliaKajtazi4 жыл бұрын
Hi, I’m glad you approve 😍. I didn’t seal it as in my studio and it doesn’t rub onto clothes but you could clear wax some areas to give it a polished look or use a dead flat topcoat. J

How difficult would it be to remove is what I'm wondering, I want to do it but at the same time eventually this house will be getting sold and worry about how problematic it could be to remove, would putting paper on the wall first be an advantage?

What’s the brand, type and name of the paint you used that was mixed with the saltwash (not the chalk paints). Thanks
@JuliaKajtazi4 жыл бұрын
Hi there. They were left over Farrow & Ball Estate Emulsion and Little Greene (I think it’s called Intelligent Matt). They are expensive so for this technique just use whatever you have or buy cheap. Hope that helps. J

it's commonly called a "foam pad with block" applicator or a "lambskin pad with block" depending on what texture you want. you can find it at Home Depot in the US.
