I ordered the Crystal 16 from Timm, probably about a year before he passed. I haven't started it yet and have no plans to in the near future, someday. It is the sister to the Osprey 18 that you built. Very nice build however. The Crystal is a different construction, I had asked Timm if I would be able to use the Osprey building method and make it 16' instead of 18. He was very much against it as you might imagine.

Timm will truly be missed. We spent a lot of time discussing boat design and there is a long chain of emails between he and I. If the Crystal had come before the Osprey I would have built that one instead and had no regrets. Timm and I chatted a lot about a Gheenoe super 16 sized boat design but nothing came of it because he had a back log of paying designs. Originally I was going to build a boat of my own design but he convinced me to build the osprey instead.

Excellent job on the frames. But it looks like the planking was major pain in the neck to eventually get smooth.

I was told they closed the design company and when I asked if they still had set to buy I have not had a reply back. There’s enough info I could draw it out to close proximity but trying to skip the lifting process

My build price will not be helpful in 2023 dollars. I kept all of my recites. Not including the motor, trailer, and returned items, it cost me $3,800 (rounded up). At the time I had a really good source of marine ply and douglas fir. Infact, at the time, Home depot was a good source of Doug fir. they don't sell it any more around here.
