DIY for Resale: How to make Vintage Rosette using DIY Paint & Waxes and the IOD Mould…Rosettes

In today's video I'll be using the IOD Mould - Rosettes to create a vintage rosette. I saw a picture on Pinterest which inspired this DIY project. I’ll be using DIY paint and waxes to create this vintage looking rosette.

Well my favorite surprised me! While I am an apothecary and white wax "die hard" I really loved the dark and decrepit with white wax. What a great video to allow us to pick our favorite look without going through the expense of buying all the products. You are a treasure friend!

I loved all of them, Sonnet. This is just my style. I would prop them up in a vignette just like you did on your mantle. I think I like the ones with the turquoise wax the best. But I think I want them all! Ha Have a great time in Florida! Can't wait to see your video on that

Great idea, I love architectural salvage. My fav's are the top Apothecary one, the Vintage Linen light & dark wax. Suprisingly, I also like the Dark & Decrepit with the white wax, at first I wasn't liking it. Using DIY paint with Milk Paint will give a great layered look too

These turned out great! I love this mould too. I have it as well and have used it on a project that turned out great. I really like this idea. I have some vintage pieces like this in our booth. You are right about the paint layers and drips on the old ones. These look stylized and that is cool too! I think your idea of maybe a base color like cream and use the candle wax on some spots to get to the bare wood after another color layer is added then sanded back. I think the wax is a must to bring out the details. Makes all the difference as you showed in your demo. I did not know about the turquoise wax?! That was cool to see as an option for another color wave. Thanks for sharing and have a great time!

I don't think I've seen anyone use the shipwrecked wax before. I want to do a Gustavian finish on a table have you ever done that? Do you have a recommendation? I like all the rosettes, but the ones with the shipwrecked wax were pretty. TFS
