I've been working with composits every day for the last 15 years. Just wanna clarify this is not forged Carbon fiber.. this is forged carbon fiber LOOK. Overlay.. real forged CB is made under pressure/vacuum. And is strong as hell made the correct way.. what these guys are doing is not making it stronger because of the core material not being strong. Forged CB is the same strong material all the eay through. What these guys are doing is just for the look, and it has a layer between the epoxy and the original material that most likely will fail when it gets stressed or the lip hits something. Then the two materials will separate. But great video and great tutorial for people wanna try it!

THIS. Carbnon is known for its light weight and high strength but this process is adding weight to each component and not improving the strength...

This is more “how to skin parts with forged CF look” just like taking normal fiberglass parts and skinning them with woven CF, like how eBay aero kits are made. Forged is actually made with a mold and a press or vacuum formed parts. Don’t get me wrong, I still think it looks better than normal CF but the term for what’s shown in the video is wrong

Daily advice was on point Evan, and I can relate I still ro rhis day think negative thoughts about myself and I do agree I do receive negative actions to my thoughts. I countlessly try to think positive but it's just hard these days. But my way of forgetting about even thinking about negatively about myself is working out and focusing on my wellbeing and my health, and my future in the US Army. I've definitely have been doing better on thinking positively about myself and I've noticed positive outcomes and it definitely makes me feel better about myself and my general mood. Just wanna say thanks Evan for always gifting me and everyone else amazing advice that we can all take note from and implement them into our own life to better our mental and physical well being. I love you all❤️

Why didn't you just use vinyl wrap with forged carbon pattern? This is like an unnecessarily expensive vinyl wrap alternative...no benefits of carbon fiber
@mrthecrev2 жыл бұрын
vinyl wrap look a lot worse than a forged carbon skinning, because you actually use a real forged carbon but it not that strong and it's heavier than oryginal part, the benefit from 100% forged carbon parts is that they are strong and light this look like real one but it's not very strong and much heavier.

So in a nutshell forged carbon fiber is basically a stick on carbon fiber with extra steps
@bk2les2 жыл бұрын
What it looks like they’re doing is called carbon fiber skinning. Actual CF you make a mold of part so it’s purely CF.
@FluxxWaffle2 жыл бұрын
@@bk2les yeah I know this process is a pain in the as if it's your first time but it will get easier as time moves on
@TheRealMrRoyal2 жыл бұрын
@@FluxxWaffle this isn't real forged carbon fiber. Doesn't have the strength or the weight savings of an actual forged part. In fact this would be much heavier than the original part because of all the layers of epoxy on top
