DIY FORKLIFT FORK EXTENSIONS BUILD | Used Auto Parts eBay Business

In this video I'm building fork extensions for my forklift to help load and unload vehicles from my trailer.
I had bought extensions online before and they did not hold up well so I decided to build my own. I will use them for while and update you on how they hold up.

Need to box in the whole fork so all the strain isn’t just on the two sides that you notched out. You should be able to stand on it without a pin or bolt in it. If the bolt shears that could be a bad day. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong. I’m not a trade welder or a fabricator. But it seems that it would need to be fully boxed in for safety. Btw they look great!

square tubing was not available at my local metal store so head to get what i could. also most manufactures have a similar design. and the pins i use are used for a 12,000 pounds trailer hitch. i think it be okay.

They are not as strong and probably made out of Chinese steel. And choice the forklifts that fits your business. Talk to your sales rap on your area. There is hundreds of models available

The c Channel was 1/4 thick and 1/4 thick plate under

Don’t remember but it was built to fit my forks. Some forks are narrower and some are wider. But I think it was a 5”x2”
