Hi, thanks for the great video, what is the length of the base ,so that the tailgate will close?
@ExpeditionExploreAusАй бұрын
It’s a little over 1m to fit in between the middle row of seats and the tailgate! It’s not a super tight fit - there is some room for movement.

I see there was a power cord rail on the side of the fridge, where did you source that and how did you go fitting?
@ExpeditionExploreAus29 күн бұрын
@@craig5147 I sourced it from Amazon - made sure to get the one where the track opens so I could feed the cable in easily. Each end has a screw in it to hold the tray in place, with one end on a small bracket I bent up so it sits at the right height.

Amazing work - end result looks incredibly clean! I was gonna comment say you should be wearing PPE when spraying adhesives, but seems you came to that conclusion in the next scene ha

Haha yes, I figured the PPE brigade would come after me if I didn’t, plus the head spins were a good reminder for it!

Nice build! Which battery do you have that powers your fridge for 1.5 days?
@ExpeditionExploreAus6 ай бұрын
Thanks! We were using the Kings 24ah power pack. Caveat is the fridge and contents all needed to be cold already and we had a system that switched between car battery and the battery pack. We’ve since updated though to something different - that will be in the next video.

That was great to watch. I've been trying to decide between the Evakool 40L drawer fridge or a fridge slide. Thinking this might be the better option. Cheers :)

Thank you for watching :). Glad it was helpful, and good luck with the purchase either way!

Awesome vid! How did you mount it to the floor?
@ExpeditionExploreAus6 ай бұрын
We’ve used the tie down point at the rear of the boot for one set of straps (closest to the door). For the rear of the box (near the middle row of seats), we have another pair of straps which tie around the seat anchor points on the floor of the car.
@craig5147Ай бұрын
@@ExpeditionExploreAusdo you get any movement on the fridge slide box using those 3 tie down points? I'm looking at doing the same thing but just with the floor base. Also where did you source the loops that you fixed to the rear of the base (which you tie to the base of the seat floor fixings)?
@ExpeditionExploreAusАй бұрын
Very little. I’ve since put in bulkier straps as the cams on the ones I had were slipping, the new ones have much better bite onto the strap and have been far more successful.
@craig514729 күн бұрын
@ExpeditionExploreAus in your video it looks like you had the bunning 1m grunt tie down straps, were these the ones that slipped or the final one you used? Im keen to find out which tie downs you settled on and where to source?
@ExpeditionExploreAus29 күн бұрын
I ended up going with the 1 and 2m gripwell tie downs. The grunts slipped, the gripwells have a much stronger cam.

Ever thought of putting in a false floor?
@ExpeditionExploreAus6 ай бұрын
Yes, though we still want access to the third row of seats when we take it out.
@danielevans82326 ай бұрын
How did you bolt the box down?
@ExpeditionExploreAus6 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment! We used the tie down point at the rear of the car with a pair of straps, towards the middle row we used another pair of tie downs which use the anchor points on the floor for the middle row of seats.

Does it work well? Do you have movement?
@ExpeditionExploreAus6 ай бұрын
Very little movement. Had to give it another tighten after the first week once the straps naturally stretch given they were new, but since then it’s remained taught.
