Thank you mate. I have been having problems with a Frangipani cutting which is finally growing after carefully following all the “Frangipani” cuttings info I could find. BUT it started to get the white & dry leaf patches that eventually destroyed most of the newly growing leaves. I have all the ingredients except the baking soda so will go get that today and follow your guidelines. I’m really happy “in advance” that you’ve shown me a non chemical way of hopefully finally finding a way to stop it before it takes over.

Thank you for your help. Everyone else was pushing chemical products for fungal plant issues

Don't mention it! Sometimes chemicals are needed, but not always. I'd say maybe less than a quarter of the time. Everything else can be solved organically.

AT LAST! There are plenty of tips on how to get rid of pests, but when it comes to fungi, most people are like, "Burn the infected plant and everything around it." To me, fungal infections are much more of a threat than bugs, also because I only have a tiny balcony where all of my plants live in close proximity - so by the time I discovered my dwarf plum tree had fungus, it had already managed to spread to my pear and cherry trees, and almost completey destroy my jasmine. I nuked the plants with the water/baking soda solution twice a week, over one month. It' s not raining here, so the leaves are pretty caked with the baking soda, and there's no need for oil and soap. I am happy to say, the fungus is defeated, although the leaved it had overtaken died with it - I am definitely getting no cherries this year, and the jasmine's in pretty bad shape tbh. But, all the plants survived, and the pear tree's even fruiting. Bottom line is, while it is true that tossing a compromised plant may be the pragmatic way to go, you don't really have to sacrifice a tree you've been growing for years, just as you aren't necessarily going to die the first time you get sick! :p

I sprayed colloidal silver on my raspberry plant and the ground around it. I make my own colloidal silver and spray it everywhere
@TheGreenAlchemist4 жыл бұрын
That is awesome! I love it for its antibacterial and antiseptic and antifungal properties. Not to mention it's considered a cure all, not just for people but it helps plants too. Just as long as you don't over use it! How is your raspberry plant doing? Did it help with anything when you sprayed it around the base of the plant?

Should I remove the leaves that have already been affected by downy mildew before I spray it? Or can I leave those leaves?
@tishatti3 ай бұрын
I’m late to the party, but could this be used on succulents? I mostly seem to have this issue on the fleshier, hairy kind of leaves, like you mentioned it’s quite common on.

Hey did this save your plant? I have an apple tree with the same issue. I don't see a video with a follow up on this
@TheGreenAlchemist4 жыл бұрын
I did! I'll post an update video hopefully sometime in the near future. This is my second job and I have a couple other videos in line before I can do this one. Try it on a small area of the tree say on a couple of leaves first if you are worried. If it doesn't work you can try neem oil, rubbing alcohol, or a copper fungicide.

Does this treatment work on a basil plant in a pot? Thx! also how many times you need to apply this treatment??
@TheGreenAlchemist5 жыл бұрын
It should, it's mostly organic as long as you don't use a bleach based soap or detergent. I would definitely apply it to a small test area first and give it about 8-10 hours to see how the plant reacts. It depends on how bad the infestation is. I'd wait about two days and then reapply. If you want to do a third time I'd wait about 5 days before applying again. Let me know how it goes if you do use it.

I just repotted a plant with Miracle grow indoor organic soil. The soil smells moldy. I have not seen any gnats or noticed white fungus bc I did not know to look for it. I can't get over the moldy smell it is strong. Do you think soil is bad? I am newbie at planting containers for my inside apartment. Should I spray with half water and hydrogen peroxide 3% to my peace lily? Or replant with a different brand of soil? Please help!

I used a 1 part HP to 3 to 4 parts water solution to water all our house plants when we were invaded with fungus gnats that came in with a small hot pepper plant I bought in Morrisons years ago. The pepper plant is no longer and the gnats migrated before I knew it. The HP solution easily killed the fungus in the compost and, with it, all the gnats. I had to do this a few times to kill off every last gnat, nymph and egg, but it does work and houseplant compost is fairly lifeless anyway. It won't do any harm to do a test to see if it harms the plant itself, but I highly doubt it, since none of mine died when they were watered this way. I can't see it being a problem if your solution isn't too strong. Rather than spray the whole plant, just wipe one leaf and see what happens. I'm pretty sure the HP will fix the smell in the compost, but you may want to improve it if it's anaerobic. I recommend watering your plants well before watering with HP solution. That way the plant will suck up less of it. Both HP and Bicarbonate Of Soda have so many uses, I always keep a good supply at home.

On weed plant i have rust fungus will this help?
@TheGreenAlchemist5 жыл бұрын
It should. It's mostly organic. I would use it on a small test area (one or two leaves) first just to make sure. Like I said I think you'll be fine but just to be sure, test it out.

What kind of dishwasher soap u use ?

I have always used Dawn soap on sprays... if it is gentle enough to bathe Wild life it should be gentle on the plants./

Can you use olive oil? Does it matter. Thank you

Probably for some of the fungi. I don't think it would be as effective for the root rot.

U think i could use this on rare anthuriums and philodendrons?? Don't wanna kill a 200 dollar plant
@TheGreenAlchemist4 жыл бұрын
I do! Though I understand the worry. I have several pricey specimen. Test it out on a small area of the plant that you can remove if something goes wrong. I think you'll be fine.
