I'm gonna use this to my advantage for my future computer game demos! Big PC Game box feels!

I got a large pack of professional non-see-through A4 stickers - meant for shipping labels, so water resistant, thick and durable. I am using these to print my board game covers on. You don't have to mess around with the glue and it's pretty sturdy.

THIS VIDEO... this is internet... i cant describe it but... this video is what internet videos should be no 99999999999dollars 500000 sponsors giga ultra HD production, just a guy at home, with his camera, with a somewhat midrange quality microphone, doing his own editing which gives it the feel that this was made by someone who cares and not just as some corporate production, the "awkward" jokes, the personal humor, not using garbage royalty free ukulele or having generic animations downloaded from the same site as 10000 other KZbinrs who make these kind of videos... this is the right way to do it internet

could you make a DIY gaming about how to make hexagonal tiles with art on them that can interlock
@pubmeeple8 жыл бұрын
+affan torla, I'll have to think about that one. It would be very difficult to get the consistency you'd want for interlocking tiles DIY-style. Most of the time a die-cutter is used to achieve this (which is expensive). If I were to prototype it, I'd probably go with making 1 tile perfectly and cast-mold it with a silicon-resin system. It's a bit more involved but I'll see if I can get something like that into this summer's lineup
@GuitarBreakOut8 жыл бұрын
+Pub Meeple well I thank you very much for your consideration! That's exactly what I thought of too, but casting moulds would be expensive, especially if it's for prototyping. Anyway, thank you again for considering it, I'll be sure to watch if you post the video

Nice, I was looking for this. But I want to make a box that looks like something actually mass produced and sold on the market. What materials should I use and what handcraft method to build such a box?
@pubmeeple8 жыл бұрын
Not sure if you're going to find a handcraft method that can match what's made in factories. Even bare boxes I get from Uline and Gamecrafter are of similar construction materials if made with finer precision. If you want market quality, you're going to have to go to a professional printer, like AdMagic
@CrabTastingMan8 жыл бұрын
So if made with finer precision, people would hardly tell the difference? I just need to make one. Gamecrafter? Thanks for telling me about this. hmm wonder if they ship overseas?

Hi there! Whats the material used to print the graphics with? It looks kinda like glossy paper. Is it expensive to get it printed? Thanks.
@pubmeeple8 жыл бұрын
+The Burns, I went to office max and asked for a thin gloss print that can be laser printed. I think they called it a gloss-cover, but it's not the 80 lbs paper (which is too thick). I can't remember the actual weight for what I used but it's pretty standard, maybe 20 lbs? Came in a legal size so what I used is fairly common. Less than $20

We have a Hobby Lobby that keeps it in stock. I can usually get the giant sheets for about $6 to $9 depending on when the framing stuff goes on sale. Michael's carries smaller sheets but at a higher rate per square inch

how do you print pictures on a piece of paper that big

Any office supply or packing shop that offers printing service should be able to make prints like this

What type of paper did you print your artwork on?
@pubmeeple8 жыл бұрын
had it printed at Office Max on a thin gloss paper. The trick is getting the size small enough that wherever you go they can get it laser printed so the ink doesn't smear on the gloss

oh oh oh can i guess. I'm guessing insert? because it'd be a shame to have such a lovely box and not have an insert to go with it. Darn shame.

+SuperWolfkin, no secret. Next episode will be on casting plastic pieces/models! But we have a foam-core, insert-making guru on our team. With enough noise we could probably get him to make us some videos. He posts his plans on our website: www.pubmeeple.com

Totally wrong and misinformation.
@pubmeeple6 жыл бұрын
could you elaborate?
@kosterix1236 жыл бұрын
4:14 for example, you should make an outside layer that you use to flip to the inside. This is a classic way to make a box that doesn't need glue. Whenever you need glue, it's a sign something is wrong. Open up a game box and take a look at the inside of the cover to see how.
@pubmeeple6 жыл бұрын
folded box methods are totally usable. I am familiar with that process. This method in the video does incorporate glue which actually strengthens the rigidity of the sides. Doesn't mean that either method is wrong or misinformation. Just different. This is a prototyping series and I'm open to many methods. All ideas are welcome
